Came here for Sunday lunch after having some lovely meals here previously but myself and family were very disappointed. The pub is lovely with a.good atmosphere and the staff are fantastic and.can't be faulted but the beef was chewy, the roast potatoes hard and undercooked, yourshire puddings looked more like pancakes and it was all stone cold with roughly a... Called in for an early dinner on a Friday evening. Great bar at the front to welcome you and everyone was enjoying the beer and sausage evening, great idea to get the punters in! Great restaurant that overlooks the river that is flood light a night! Waiter made my wife a delicious Kir even though it was his first attempt!... More

We sat adjacent to the river with the floodlights on so it lifted an otherwise grim January evening. The decor through the place was really nice giving a quality rustic feeling. The ladies opted for homemade soup whereas I chose their squid with green leaves, and all was excellent with my salt & pepper squid rings being particularly tasty. For... More

Don't be put off by the road works as its well worth the detour. Sunday lunch was a triumph. My benchmark is whether you could do better at home. No! Awesome. Great, great food: beautifully cooked to taste; deserts to fall asleep from, lovely beer and wine. The perfect Sunday lunch. Return trip in the diary.

We arranged to meet friends at the Prince Leopold for lunch and it was extremely good. The whole place was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We had a drink in the 'snug' which had a lovely log fire burning and our orders were taken here. We were then shown into the small... More

Just off the A36 in the village of Upton Lovell,, on the banks of the Wylye river far enough away from the A36 to be peaceful. The Prince Leopald is a converted inn with a number of bedrooms and dinning options. Very good classical Wiltshire dishes, specials such as Duck confit and for those wanting a snack lunch a good... Having been here with work I ventured back at night for a causal beer and a spot of food. The service was great and the staff were friendly. It is equally good by the river in the summer as it is by the fire in the winter. A delight to go to and to keep going to

Had lunch at the Prince Leopold today. Food was excellent, service very friendly and they have achieved the combination of a restaurant where you can also just have a drink if you wish. You can eat in the bar where dogs are very welcome. There is also a comfortable sitting room with sofas etc. I haven't mentioned the River Wylye... More

If you like a hearty roast lunch on a Sunday, then this is a very good choice. Unusual for us - we normally have lighter fare at lunchtime - but this was really enjoyable: tasty well cooked meat and plenty of choice of vegetables. The dining room has a good view of the river and there are comfortable rooms in... More

I recently visited The Prince Leopold for dinner, my husband and I had a fabulous meal with excellent service. The evening started by ordering the drinks at the bar and when our table was ready the waitress took our drinks on a tray to our table for us (I thought that this was a nice touch). They then went through... More
