Oh my days the goats cheese!

This pub is a delight. It is in a lovely country setting, set by the river and incredibly cosy yet clean cut inside. I went once with a very big party and once as a small group of friends. As a large group, we dined like kings and queens with little shots of soup served to keep us going while... read more

A friend had told me to try this pub a while ago and after checking tripadvisor, we decided to give it a go. The pub looks great and is very well maintained. Soft pastel colours on the wall, hard wood furniture and thick curtains give this place a very nice country feel. We were greeted by the landlady (I guess)... More

We eat out quite a lot in the local area and I have to say that our recent experience here was absolutely terrible! It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty empty, this should have rang alarm bells. For starters I had the crispy squid which was horrible chewy frozen squid with a sweet chilli dip and presented... More

We have passed along the main road and seen the sign for this pub for many years but decided to give it a goo this time. We were vertypleased we did so - the village is unspoilt and the pub is a very nice surprise with a wonderful garden where we enjoyed a drink before entering the restaurant where we... More

This is a lovely riverside pub with plenty of different places to sit and have a drink, a nibble or a full meal. It's a wonderful location at any time, and especially on a warm day or evening. The staff are so friendly and helpful - they are very much "yes, of course" people. And the food was really good,... More

A great place to spend a sunny day relaxing by the riverside. Owners were very welcoming. The food was great too. We found this place by chance on the long drive home stopping for a quick bite but we didn't want to leave! Very pretty scenery to look at.

We called here returning from Thruxton where my friend's grandson aged 13 had been having a driving lesson in a Porsche Cayman. So I decided to treat them to a good meal on the way home. The owners and staff just have that knack of making total strangers welcome as soon as the walk through the door. I don't think... More

Myself, my husband, my two small boys and our dog enjoyed a really lovely Sunday lunch here today. Both the children and the dog were made to feel very welcome and the roasts we ordered ( beef and lamb, and also prepared as kids portions with free ice cream) were absolutely delicious...as was the side of cauliflower cheese ( a... Returning from a shopping trip to Salisibury we decided to drop into an old Wiltshire Inn we had often read about but never tried. Great decision! The Prince Leopold is a real gem; great selection of beers and wines, excellent service and absolutely superb food, what else could you want. Despite its obvious quality there was nothing pretentious about this... More

There is a whiff of complacency at the Prince Leopold which, if confirmed, could threaten its local reputation. There is a friendly welcome but the standard of the food has slipped and it is also over-priced. Ham Egg and Chips is a Wiltshire classic yet the pub had run of eggs. On our recent visit, the staff were overwhelmed and... More
