Worthwhile diversion

We were held up in traffic and saw the sign for this lovely restaurant. Great welcome and lovely food. Beautiful surrounding too. Worth a visit!

This is a lovely venue with great views, great food and friendly service. We have been twice as a family last year (10 of us) and have left happy with our evening.

My colleague and I battled through the road works and diversions to have lunch here today. I am so glad that we did, what a treat. Excellent service, excellent quality food at a great price. The restaurant is lovely and I would encourage everyone to brave the roadworks and visit - it is definitely worth it. We will be driving... More

Lovely warm service Attentive with out being in your face . Food excellent ingredients best quality . Roast beef done to perfection . The puddings are too tempting to ignore which I didn't ! Staff knowledgable on foods and drink plus some interesting and high end brands of alcohol but prices were acceptable Really difficult to find fault

I have returned from my Christmas present (thank you James)...bed and breakfast for me, my three children and their partners...a fabulous Saturday evening meal and cosy overnight stay at this wonderful pub / restaurant / B&B. Comfy sofas, newspapers, books, boardgames and a roaring log fire were much appreciated in the icy cold weather...a lovely way to relax for a... More

We came here as we were having a weekend break with friends and they had stayed a few years ago. The pub was very busy and we hadn't booked but we could not have received a warmer welcome. The Landlady worked hard to fit us in and we enjoyed sitting round the fire with the papers till a table came... More

A friend and I popped in for lunch and were met by a very warm and friendly welcome from the landlady. This is a charming pub, well decorated in a contemporary style and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The food too was very good.

Came here for Sunday lunch after having some lovely meals here previously but myself and family were very disappointed. The pub is lovely with a.good atmosphere and the staff are fantastic and.can't be faulted but the beef was chewy, the roast potatoes hard and undercooked, yourshire puddings looked more like pancakes and it was all stone cold with roughly a... Called in for an early dinner on a Friday evening. Great bar at the front to welcome you and everyone was enjoying the beer and sausage evening, great idea to get the punters in! Great restaurant that overlooks the river that is flood light a night! Waiter made my wife a delicious Kir even though it was his first attempt!... More

We sat adjacent to the river with the floodlights on so it lifted an otherwise grim January evening. The decor through the place was really nice giving a quality rustic feeling. The ladies opted for homemade soup whereas I chose their squid with green leaves, and all was excellent with my salt & pepper squid rings being particularly tasty. For... More
