A nice stop en route to Salisbury.

This is the second time I have visited. I still very much like the ambience, I prefer the bar area although if the weather had been nicer I would have sat outside overlooking the pretty river. I had the ham and mustard sandwich and hadnt expected it to come with chips and salad. Be warned, it is... read more

After a visit to Stonehenge we happened upon a sign for the prince Leopold we decided we liked the sound of it so turned off the road What an excellent decision that was There were 9 of us in total and the staff were superbly hospitable and obliging, sitting out tables for us in the dining room whilst we ordered... They say the mark of a good business is how they handle things when they go wrong. I cannot fault staff at the Prince Leopold in this respect. Everything was wonderful, as it usually is when we visit, however a minor issue with one of the side dishes was raised with our server. Shortly afterwards a senior member of staff... More

I have been to eat here twice in the last 6 weeks. We returned as we found the food quality above average for the area. On our first visit the service along with the food was excellent. Our 2nd visit was not so satisfying. We only learnt there were specials after hearing their description being explanined to a nearby table.Luckily... More

Very good food and setting, the only thing we had was the printer broke so our order was a bit longer then usual but the staff kept us informed and it wasn't like we were in a rush. We had the soup and the crayfish as starters and it was lovely, the burgers were lovely and the deserts were very... More

Admittedly we went on a warm and sunny spring day but the garden was wonderful, bordered by a good sized stream complete with daffodils and unspoiled meadows beyond ( far beyond a rail line). The staff were welcoming and relaxed, although an older woman behind the bar was clearly, if sweetly out of her depth adding or pulling a pint!... More

Popped in whilst travelling through from Wales to home in the New Forest. Although hungry we managed to time our visit really badly and arrived after lunch and one and a half hours before dinner so couldn't eat. However we had a very nice pint of beer, a glass of wine, some Wasabi peas and nuts and sat down by... More

This pub is a delight. It is in a lovely country setting, set by the river and incredibly cosy yet clean cut inside. I went once with a very big party and once as a small group of friends. As a large group, we dined like kings and queens with little shots of soup served to keep us going while... More

A friend had told me to try this pub a while ago and after checking tripadvisor, we decided to give it a go. The pub looks great and is very well maintained. Soft pastel colours on the wall, hard wood furniture and thick curtains give this place a very nice country feel. We were greeted by the landlady (I guess)... More
