I've dined here several times as part of a large group and I've always found the food to be OK but a bit bland and lacking in flavour. It is clear a lot of the curry dishes come from the same onion and spice base as sometimes it's difficult to differentiate between different dishes. The starters tend to be tasty... More

We often go here not only as it is local but also very good. Cannot complain about either the food or service. The restaurant offers a full range from mild to hot curries. I believe they better represent the food I have had in India as being not to 'blow your mind out hot' but good use of spices to... More

Worth the round trip to Alcester for one of their takeaways! The food isn't swimming in ghee when you open the containers and nothing is a suspicious colour. Everything we've tried has been well spiced, good amount of decent meat, the veg rice is proper veg rice, good portion sizes. Always get a random complimentary treat in with the order... More

Food ok but just to make people aware that this restaurant has been recently prosecuted for selling beef as lamb, have a look in the Warwickshire news, a lamb meal was found to be 99% beef

John M, Public Relations Manager at Cardamom, responded to this review

The error about beef and lamb occurred in 2012. The suppliers delivered the wrong meat and the chef then made an error in failing to correctly identify the meat. The chef has since left. A new system was instigated immediately after the discovery to stop this happening again. Cardamom received a conditional discharge and was not fined. More

Very ordinary food, had more taste out of a Maggie packet, shortly after eating at the restaurant, there was a newspaper report saying that they had substituted beef for lamb in a curry dish, which I must agree is strange as lamb is cheaper to buy. The attitude of carelessness was ver obvious, I did not enjoy my visit.

Have both eaten in and taken away many times, very nice, simple Indian food, staff always very attentive. There is not much choice when it comes to takeaways in the area, but this is one of the best there are.

Popped in with two friends midweek. Nothing special - pretty standard stuff as you would expect from an Indian. Meal was ok. It wouldn't be my first choice of place to eat. It's bring your own alcohol, so don't forget that! One thing I don't like is, they have a tv on an Indian music channel, and it's on a... More

We visited the Cardamom Indian before an event at my sons school, it was the first time we had visited this restaurant. The restaurant doesn't have a licence so only serves non alcoholic drinks, though you may bring your own and if you forget waitrose is across the road. We had our standard popadoms which were average. We all enjoyed... More
