We called in at the village of Alcester to dine at another eaterie but unfortunately it wasn't open on a Tuesday so we had a re-think and decided to take a chance on The Bear Hotel. The staff were very warm and welcoming, the menu was varied and reasonably priced. My husband chose the gammon and I had the spinach/... More

We had a very lovely evening with good food, until we were chased down the street and rudely accused of not paying for our meal, after having paid and leaving a tip! Received no apology, definitely needs improvements on customer service!

We regularly pop in to The Bear for lunch when we go to Alcester. Food is reasonably priced, home cooked and always piping hot. The staff are very helpful, friendly and polite especially Adam who gives first class service. We will continue to give our custom.

Had a meal there recently.... No atmosphere at all pretty sterile..... Food was ok nothing special in my book. Won't be eating there again. On a cold evening it's a good idea to turn some heating on! Was cold inside.

What a find this place was! Stayed at Travelodge and wanted somewhere relaxed and friendly that served good old-fashioned food. Boy did we find it here! Greeting was really friendly without being OTT. Barmaid was helpful when we asked about menus. Service was very good...and food was excellent. My other half likes his grub piping hot and he got it... We went to The Bear for lunch today. It's exceptionally clean and with nice separate areas to eat. We ordered baguettes, they were absolutely scrummy, pretty big and with a nice little salad. Waiting time was pretty short too, which was a bonus. Really good value for money...we'll definitely return.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good range of food on offer. Beer garden on the edge of the Avon was a beautiful setting. Beer etc. good choice. Would visit again!

Friendly enough service, and quite a nice lay out. My complaint was that the main meal was so hot [micro-wave] that I had to leave it 5 minutes before it was safe to eat!

We popped in here for a quick bite to eat at lunch. I ordered a ploughmans, my partner ordered a salad. We also ordered 2 drinks, the price came to over £18. They didn't accept credit/debit cards, this seems a very outdated mode of thinking in this day and age as most businesses accept credit/debit cards. When the food arrived... More
