What do you need after a lovely foreign holiday where you are spoiled with fresh fish and Cypriot specialities every day? A good old English Sunday lunch of course, and what a treat we had today....Have never seen slices of beef so large yet perfectly cooked, with lashings of very tasty gravy. Perfect roasts and veg, cauliflower cheese to die... More

Second visit to the Turks this year... Got to say the smoked ribs with homemade fries & greenslaw was wonderful! My wife had the smokey burger which was equally as good... See you soon!!

alcester was a pleasant surprise; a lovely small town not far from Stratford on Avon. Main Street looks like something from an old British black and white movie. Bric a brac shops, interesting pubs and attractive buildings without being at all touristy. Turks Head was recommended by friends as a must visit, particularly for the fish and chips. So naturally,... More

Firstly, I am glad that the positive comments from your friends led you to our door. As a community pub without substantial tourist traffic we rely exclusively on reputation through word of mouth. So, we are very upset that your experience wasn't a positive one. It is disappointing, however, that you did not allow the staff to replace the cod... More

Good atmosphere, great range of beers, basic but good menu with tasty food. Alcester is a great place to wander from pub to pub trying Traditional Ales and the Turks is a must visit

After being disappointed by the Hollybush not serving food we turned up at the Turks Head. Lovely good, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.

We came here for dinner on recommendation from friends who are locals. The staff were very prompt at serving us and were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely relaxing atmosphere in the dining section. We both had the pork roast belly which was absolutely delicious - a generous portion and very tasty. Very reasonable prices too. We had the sticky toffee... More

Took lunch here on a very wet Bank Holiday Monday. The pub was busy despite the poor weather. Really excellent food quality, very nicely presented in a clean tidy restaurant area behind the main pub bars. Simple, family friendly food , huge portions and excellent value for money. Wide range of real ales in the pub. Courteous, welcoming, attentive table... More

Passing through and went out in evening to walk the High Street and visit a classic church in midst of town. Welcoming and comforting atmosphere. High quality and varied food choices. Ate in pub section with a beautiful front window view of the High Street foot traffic. Unlikely to find a better managed pub without losing the informal setting of... More

Visiting town, chose Turks Head from TA. Staff friendly. St. Austell Proper Job well kept. Odd building very narrow with front bar off the pavement followed by a further room inside then a small thin garden eating area with approx a dozen tables. Due to warm weather we ate outside. Food - typical pub group plus some upmarket dishes. We... More
