First visit to this free house pub in the lovely village of Alcester which is a treat to walk around. Snug bars, beer garden and cosy dining room with good attentive service from the staff. We had four different main courses, which were good portions, well cooked and all tasty. These included margherita pizza with choice of additional toppings. I... More

This burger has made what was already pretty much the perfect high street pub a little better it is honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had (knocks the socks off most "specialist" burger chains). Coupled with the consistently excellent choice of beer and cider and jovial genuine service this place deserves recognition. The only downside? I should... More

Visited for the first time last night with friends for dinner - what a good find. There is a traditional bar at the front which was very busy and has some tables and seating plus a quieter seating area in the rear. Being a Friday night it was packed but the standard of food and service was excellent. The slow... More

Sunday Lunch - very good! Not over priced and a good portion too and this is amongst the best pub roasts I have had - and I am a former publican! Friendly welcome and you can sit in the bar or separate dining area or the lovely secluded garden at the rear. Must make the trip back to try one... More

Worst service in town. My friends and I asked for the tennis on the TV. To which the North American chap behind the bar said, in a passive aggressive manner, "I can, but I won't". A little taken aback we asked again (politely) and he gave it some more nonsense about being too busy. This was mid afternoon and the... More

I am sorry that your first experience in the Turks and your first and only use of Trip Advisor is so negative. We are not a sports pub and the Bar Manager was correct in advising you to visit one of the other pubs in town that would better cater for your needs and I'm glad that he was correct... More

I visited the pub yesterday with friends and were hoping to watch the tennis on there outside tv. As no one was outside we politely asked the bar man if he could switch it on to which he replied "I could but I am not going to". Taken aback, we asked why and he then began muttering that it wasn't... More

I am sorry that we could not fulfil your request to show the tennis. I notice that you were visiting Alcester and staying at Dorset house and thus your first visit to the Turks; hindsight is a great thing but we would have been more than happy to show the tennis if you had given us prior warning. Unfortunately, as... More

Friendly, busy and very lively pub - at least on a Saturday Night - particularly in 'traditional' Bar; however has separate restaurant area which is bit quieter. Terrific food - belly pork slow cooked to perfection with superb crispy crackling and great rib-eye steak with 'real' home made chips. Excellent service - fast and attentive and happy to change vegetables... More

My partner and I have just got back from a long weekend in Alcester, staying with my cousin and her husband. They have lived in Alcester for 30 years and say that the Turks is the best place in town to eat. The service and welcome were first class and the atmosphere buzzing. My cousin had booked in advance and... More

We go here once a month with a group of friends for what we call Turks Tuesday. The burgers are the best I have ever eaten served with home made chips, home made coleslaw and salad. The staff are all friendly and put up with our individual demands - no buns for the gluten free people, no sauce or salad... More
