Was in the area for family reasons, saw all the great reviews and thought we would try it. As our visit was on a Sunday weren't able to choose from the main menu, which looked very appetising. Some of the food was really tasty and well cooked, but the pate was cold and wet, obviously previously frozen, the roast potatoes were... We met friends for dinner at Number 50 having chosen the restaurant as a mutually convenient meeting point after reading reviews on tripadvisor and looking at its website. Everything met our expectations: a friendly welcome, attentive service and excellent food which is freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients. Number 50 deserves its top spot on tripadvisor.

I've been to Number 50 quite a few times over the last 5 years or so and it is still my favourite restaurant. The quality of the food is second to none. We only come here for special occasions but it is always the restaurant of choice for my hubby and I. The food is mostly local, wonderfully fresh and... More

10 of us (5 adults, 5 kids) went for Sunday lunch. The greeting was friendly, the service really good and the food was fantastic - the roast beef was out of this world. The restaurant was busy (full) but that didn't affect the service or quality of food. I would recommend and will be back.

Lunch today with my wife and two friends was excellent. We all tried something different and 'shared' to get a real opportunity to sample what was on offer. The service and ambiance, depite it being quiet, was perfect. Chris made sure we were looked after with food, wine and coffee being served in a timeless and unfussed fashion. The black pudding... I booked a table in advance and when we arrived it was available, but we were early so we had drinks in the bar. My cousin has special dietary needs and was able to eat off the menu with only one question being asked to the waiter. We opted for starters which were very tasty. When the mains arrived they... Visiting the nearby National Trust Coughton Court so we booked a table here for Sunday lunch. The service and quality of food were outstanding right down the the unprompted ice cold bottled of tap water brought to our table. One of the best Sunday lunches we've ever had and we've had many. The deserts were equally delicious. If you can... More

The 1970s Wave effect plastering and the understated Décor are in no way a indication of what comes out of the Kitchen . The welcome is warm , interesting beer choices and an excellent wine selection ( the House wines are well worth a try ). I know that the basis for most Sunday lunches are similar , So why... More
