wow, what a breakfast i had in here. i had poached eggs on wheaten with bacon and mushrooms, and its by far the best i have ever had, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the yolk just oozed out of them. other members of the party had the french bread with syrup and bacon which too was fantastic. i... Set in the Craigantlet hills above Newtownards, this is a wee gem of a farm shop restaurant. The food is fresh made using farm ingredients and is consistently good. The restaurant is bright and some window tables have stunning views of Strangford Lough. It is always busy and sometimes the queues are long. Love going for breakfast and the coffee topups are... Popped in here for lunch and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The staff warm friendly and helpful. A wonderful Warm Irish welcome. This was my first stop on my first visit to Northern Ireland and it set me up for the next few days. I will return.

As a regular I have become increasingly disappointed in the value of the food due to recent price increases. another problem is that the breakfasts are invariably served luke warm and thus cold by the time I am finishing.

Son and I popped in for breakfast - definitely better to go early before the crowds! Son enjoyed homemade pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. I had healthy breakfast (the chutney served with it is delicious!) and washed down with lovely coffee (and thankful of free top up too). The farm shop has plenty of fresh tempting produce to buy.

This restaurant is very popular and always busy and we have eaten there a number of times in recent years. However each time I leave thinking that the food is entirely average and very overpriced for lunch time. In fact I think the standard of food and slowness of service is getting worse each time we visit. Disappointing overall.

Been here a few times for breakfast. Service, staff and food very good. It's not just a cafe, it's also a great garden center.

Have been here on many occasions and never been disappointed with either the food or the service. The waiting and kitchen staff just seem to cope well no matter how many people come through the doors. The quality of food, whether for breakfast, lunch or tea, is uniformly excellent. That's why I keep returning.

My daughter in law and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at McKees and afterwards had a lengthy browse in the shop. The food was excellent and the service second to none both in the restaurant and the shop. A few young men in particular went to great lengths to ensure we left with everything we needed. Great gift shop, nice... More

I visited McKees several times during the past couple of weeks. The food is heavenly. I came for breakfast, I came for coffee and cake and then came for lunch, all on different days. I have never had such fresh ingredients. Between us we had bacon, wheaten bread, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. Amazing. Presentation is more like... More
