Just dinner

The wife and I went here for a change, the menu was ok, I would prefer more choices, the food was good, of average portion, the deserts were nice , though as before, I would like a better choice, we will be going back

Having not been here for some five years, I was gratified when the proprietor emerged from his kitchen and greeted me, 'Hello, Doctor'. His staff are alert, friendly, and courteous. Starters enjoyed were delicious Mozzarella in Carozza and Ciccio Caprese, with an antipasta of marinated olives and fresh bread. Carbonara with bacon, not on the menu, was specially prepared for... Good to see the Nas back at the helm. Good food and plentiful. Never feel rushed to leave the table after finishing the meal. I've always enjoyed the welcome and ambience.

We were in midweek. Early, it was quiet at first, then got busy and began to fill up which added to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Nice mix of people - couples, families, etc. It has had a refurb since we were last there, which is excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Nice warm and cozy place, with pleasant aroma... More

I was in Don Gio's last night with a group of friends of Italy as we were suggested to go there from some people in the town. We had a very warm welcome from the owner that pumpered us with a great italian atmosphere and lovely food. Some of us had pizza, I had Pollo Parmigiana and chips, others got... More

We were very pleased with the atmosphere and the retro 1930's decor, it was a blast from the past and the selection of ice-cream was mind boggling. It is worth the experience but a bit pricey

The restaurant is quite old. Sofas and chairs look terrible. Pasta is not really italian, not cooked at the right point, not tasty and very heavy. Typical italian dressings are missing. Italian atmosphere is well far away.

Monday night visit and although it was quiet it did liven up as the evening progressed (8.30 on). I'd read the reviews here and had high expectations of a good meal. However the food was not great. Although at this point I should say the staff were great. Prawns in filo were fine but the bruschetta and the foccia were... More

The food in here is okay a bit pricey for a bit of pasta or a pizza to be honest but the atmosphere is really nice and cosy and the staff are nice as well :-)
