I had an early morning coffee in this restaurant recently. It was fine and some of the fries being consumed at a nearby table looked very appetising. I had a look at the different menus and certainly wouldn't have had a problem finding something for lunch or an evening meal. I know that this restaurant has been recently taken over... More

We had a brunch snack, coffee and hot chocolate here last weekend, and found it to be a lovely little place. The poached eggs were excellent, and so was the espresso-con-panna. Will return!

Trip 1: sloppy bean burrito filled with what seemed like tinned Mexican bean mix. Overheard one member of kitchen staff complain that we requested a vegetarian burrito. Trip 2: good goats cheese bruschetta, average rest of meal. Side of champ ordered and arrived not fully cooked. Cold and hard potatoes. When mentioned I was refunded the cost of the side.... More

We were here on Saturday past for lunch and liked it so much we came back for an evening meal. Sozo does a really tasty steak sandwich (the lunchtime choice) at £7.50 inc a side, and cannot praise the bbq ribs enough for an evening main. My goats cheese starter was first class. Top marks for speedy and friendly service.... More

Went here recently, firstly the service is excellent, however I was very disappointed by the size of the portions for my main course, which was the Cajun Chicken. It consisted of one very lonely looking chicken breast and a few stray peppers in a bowl, which considering the price of it (£12) was very disappointing. Tastewise it was just ok.... More

Hi Colin, Thanks for your review and sorry to hear that the portion size was not what you expected. This is the first time we have had a negative comment with regard to the portion size, in fact its normally the other way round, we get positive reviews regarding the large portions! So, can't really understand what happened with your... More

We turned up on a Friday night, and got a table (although it got busier after about 8pm). Great, relaxed venue, good staff, average priced. We had ribs - which were enormous, could only eat half, well served with delicious salad and presented well. Amazing pavlova dessert (funny how I found room for that!). Recommend it

Myself and my partner recently had a late lunch in Sozo during the week. He had the steak sandwich and I had a chicken panini and both meals were gorgeous. Really nice food. Lovely staff also and food was reasonably priced. It is our new favourite place to eat in Carrick! Looking forward to coming back and sampling the evening... More
