We went to The Windrose for my hubby's birthday and were very disappointed with the meals we were served. My hubby ordered the sirloin steak which was greatly overpriced at £20 plus. It was supposed to have mushrooms served but we were told they had no mushrooms left. They did not however, reduce the price in view of this. The... More

Good food, reasonably priced with nice outside terrace and good views over marina. Often has entertainment on especially at weekends.

Pleasant meal, service good but very busy. As there was entertainment on in the restaurant area, it was quite noisy.

We asked to eat outside as lovely weather and outdoor tables overlook the marina. Advised to place and pay for order at the bar which was fine. Smoked salmon risotto bland, huge portion but totally tasteless and rice not quite cooked.Asparagus and potato soup poor, chilli squid slightly better. Limited dessert options. Not asked how we enjoyed our meal. Few... More

We were stating at the travel lodge for one night prior to a wedding and initially went in here for drinks. The view is lovely over the harbour and we requested a table overlooking this, understanderbly, these were reserved for diners and we quite happily chose another table for drinks, however, when the waiter saw us looking at the menus,... We attended a wedding reception at the Windrose. The staff could not have been any nicer. They were all very pleasant and attentive. The views from the upstairs room were beautiful overlooking the Marina. The food was average, but service throughout meal was good.

Service is usually great. The view and restaurant are nice looking. On a warm summer day it is hard to beat sitting out the back with a pint, watching the boats! Food wise, largely reasonably good. Occasionally very bland, occasionally surprisingly good. A little pricey.
