Very Good Food, Mediocre Service!

We booked a reservation for a large family dinner at the Windrose. They had a great early bird menu with a choice of appetizer, main and dessert for ₤14 a person. The food was fabulous and everyone was quite pleased with their meal. The serving sizes were quite large as well. However, the... read more

Went to the Windrose and enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Very good Sunday menu and food was delicious. Portion sizes were generous and price of 2 & 3 course options very reasonable. The only let down was staff could have been more attentive. No one approached during the meal to ask if everything was OK nor were we offered dessert.... More

Had the honey chilli chicken with coriander ice-cream.....fantastic food & Great service from friendly staff. Bar was quite busy (Tall Ships & sunshine was glorious) but food was delivered promptly. Really enjoyable meal. Recommended.

Had the family at the Windrose for a meal and it was excellent from the attentive staff to the food just the way you would want it. My only mistake was not sitting outside on a lovely day looking out on the Harbour. Will be back for sure

Called in with a friend who measures the quality of his food by the height. Didn't expect to be overly impressed by this modern restaurant on the harbour. We were wrong! The service was excellent, the staff very helpful and the food very good. It's more of an American/Irish style diner than a pub restaurant or a fast food outlet.... More

Went to the carvery last Sunday. We were sitting upstairs, which gave us a perfect view over the Carrickfergus Marina as well as to the coastline across the lough. The starters were plentiful. I chose the prawn cocktail which was beautifully presented in a shell and as well as that I tried the cooked salmon. Both starters were very tasty... More

Went her on Fathers Day for lunch with the family, this is a very busy and bustling bar and restaurant with fantastic food. Can honestly say this was one of the best Sunday Lunch's we've had anywhere. The service was very good dispite it being so busy. The outside decking area is lovely when the weather is nice. You would... More

We dropped into the Windrose on Sunday whilst out for a Sunday drive, and what a treat we had. The food we chose for Sunday lunch was quite simply devine, right up there with Belfast's best restaurants at a fraction of the cost. We had 2 small children with us and the staff could not do enough to make sure... More
