Disappointing meal for two

After booking a table for the upstairs restaurant was disappointed to find that it was closed for an outside function. We were seated at a table which appeared to be in the way and people were brushing past all the time. We ordered after approx. 10 minutes and waited over 40 minutes for our meal... read more

My husband and I called in for Sunday lunch we didn't have a reservation but we were given a table. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered from the set menu and it was beautiful. We had 2 courses each, main and dessert, drinks and it came to less than £38, brilliant value, the quality and standard was... More

Been a few times and find the place lacking, food although plentiful drab and either over seasoned or just nothing. Staff lack direction either they hang at the bar or disappear completely. Weekends are busy and it's popular enough but the band they get is always too loud where you find yourself shouting to talk. Could do a lot better,... More

I decided to take the children (teenagers) out for Sunday dinner locally and opted for The Windrose. I haven't been in ages and I'm kicking myself for leaving it so long. A lovely welcome from the server who showed us to a table overlooking the Marina. The menu offers a good choice without being overwhelming. I had the whipped goats... More

On a sunny day sitting outside was perfect with a view of the marina. Very pleasant location close to town. We all had seafood which was fresh and well prepared. Portions were small for the price. Nice wine and beer selection. All in all, a good spot when visiting Carrickfergus.

We visit the Windrose from time to time as my mother in law likes it, despite frequently being disappointed by the food and service. It is a lovely sunny spot overlooking the marina which is what makes us return. However I couldn't recommend it for anyone who is at all choosy about their food. The mussels and main fish course... We visited the Windrose on a beautiful evening last week..we didn't have a reservation so we're delighted to get a table right away - a lovely table with nice view over marina. Restaurant filled up quickly. We were offered menus and a drink. We placed our order - food service was slow but the friendly, attentive waiting staff made up... More
