Just nipped in for a bite to eat, hadn't booked. Lovely hot food. Good portion size. Good selection. My only fault would be that it was a bit slow!

We have been many times to Otter lodge and have always had good meals. I wouldn't say I have ever been blown away by the quality of the food but it is usually tasty. I think it is overpriced for what it is but it does get a regular clientele and therefore the proprietor probably feels justified in his menu... More

I have to say the food that I got was very good and the serving was plentiful. However the service staff leave a lot to be desired especially the owner who has to one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met. As I paid for my meal he never once broke a smile never mind broke into conversation.... More

Met with friends for a meal on Saturday evening. The place was busy which we always take as a good sign. There was a good set menu and also some specials to choose from which we think shows the owners put some thought and effort into making the dining a different experience on each visit. We all had starters, and... More

I have visited the Otter Lodge over the years and have always said what it lacked in comfort and atmosphere it made up for in good food - well after having probably the worst meal I have had for years in any restaurant I now have to agree with what many others are saying and say that Otter Lodge is... The three of us had lunch in Otter lodge. The staff were friendly although not as warm as they could be. You order food at the bar. The beef in pepper sauce on the special menu was excellent (served with both rice and chips). The salmon with chilli noodles was good however, it was swimming in the sauce. Overall, it's... More

The Otter Lodge is a lovely restaurant situated on the edge of Ballinderry River, the surroundings are scenic and tranquil and the food is excellent.

We went here because Villa Vinci was closed for repairs and we couldn't think of another restaurant in Cookstown. The decor on first impression is exactly what you end up getting, the 90's. Pleasent staff but you go and order it like a takeaway, random. Food was terrible. We went safe with a burger and a lasagne. The chef should... More

I am still reeling from what just happened in this restaurant tonight. we had travelled quiet a distance to visit a friend from the town and it was suggested to go out for tea. my friend and i selected a main course with the other member going for the 2 course special meal deal which was a starter and main... lovely quiet spot with lovely gardens and the river is so relaxing. You order your food and when called off you go and enjoy. Hot and tasty and the prices are very good. A great variety on the menu.
