Been a while but a faultless return

For one reason or another, no fault of this food heaven, I have not been for at least 18 months. A friend of mine and I went to the Butchers on Friday 24th April evening. Lovely welcoming fire, especially as it turned cold and wet. The genuine welcome from the staff as usual and and a friendly word... read more

I went there for a meal with my grandchildren. We didn't book, but that was no problem for them even though they were busy. There were lots of local people eating out there, which is always a good sign. The staff were excellent, and the food was very good. We had a really nice evening. We will call again.

We've eaten here several times recently, as it is a place you can guarantee a perfecly cooked meal every time! The menu has something to suit everyone, whether it's pub grub or something a bit more special, the menu suits any occasion. I recently had the salmon fillet (melt in the mouth) followed by Lemon Posset for pudding (scrumptious!). The... More

We celebrated my niece's 18th birthday with a family meal for 10 people... and fair play staff had put banners up wishing her a happy birthday.Everyone's food came out the same time nobody was left waiting , the food was delicious and plenty of it. Puddings were also gorgeous and the young waitress was lovely and couldn't do enough for... More

My wife and I stopped for lunch at the Butchers on the way home from Carmarthen. We were very impressed by the quality of the food. My wife ordered cod in batter and it was absolutely delicious. It was as described, skinless and boneless. I ordered the highwayman's platter and thoroughly enjoyed it! Deserts were also homemade and delicious. My... More

Interesting little pub with a focus on food. we called for lunch and ordered pan fried cockles and a prawn cocktail for starters; both dishes were served promptly with the cockles served in a mini f/pan and tasted great, whilst the prawn cocktail was a big disappointment being swamped by a jungle of chewy salad that seemed alien to the... Lovely country pub with a homely vibe. All the food is homemade and this is obvious once you try it! Big portions for exceptional prices. The owner who is front of house is very welcoming and efficient. We visit the Butchers Arms on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. On very busy nights you do feel a bit... More

My wife and I met some friends and had lunch here on Saturday. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is made up of little rooms. I had fish, chips and mushy peas and must say it was the best fish & chips I have eaten for sometime. The chips were home made and the fish was white and chunky... More
