Thoroughly enjoyed a birthday meal here. It was very busy (customers having to be turned away)but service was good and the food was very tasty. Definitely recommend to eat there and will be going back soon

My husband and I recently visited the Butchers arms for an anniversary evening meal. We had planned to eat at the White Hart in Llanddarog but did not realise it did not open on Wednesdays. We were lucky to get a table at the Butchers Arms opposite as it was very busy and had we been a larger party we... More

We'd booked in advance as reviews were good. However we were very disappointed. Garlic bread ok and the rest was bog standard food. No accompanying mint sauce with lamb and had to wait at least 5 mins for a vinegary concoction from a jar. Salmon was plain and bland. No sauce at all. My brother's steak was fine. Over-priced and... My wife and I visit the Butchers Arms every time we visit Carmarthen from Manchester. The atmosphere is great and the food consistently excellent. Good selection of food and a reasonably priced wine list. Although we haven't stayed at their holiday accomodation we were shown around the 2 bedroom chalet when we last visited - it is beautifully decorated and... More

Went on a date at this restaurant on a recommendation from a work colleague...and I'm so glad I did! From the outside it's a bit unassuming - it looks like a quaint village pub...and the same goes for the inside. We booked for half 7 on a Wednesday and it was full to the rafters which is always a good... More

What a wonderful meal! Lovely place and excellent service from all staff, especially Calum ( with one l...), we were treated royally even though it was our first visit. Don't expect fast food here, everything is home made and cooked to order and is delicious. My partner had the vegetable soup, I had the belly pork with black pudding, both... More

We came here from Llansteffan, where we're staying, for an evening meal. Its Tripadvisor ranking is well deserved. Outside it looks lovely, with lots of flowers, like a French village inn. Inside, the decor is unprepossessing but the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. Food is outstanding, with all dishes homemade. There's a separate vegetarian menu which you have to ask... More

Six of us went and all really enjoyed our meals. Even the veggie with us was impressed with the choice but as wasn't hungry went with just cheesy garlic bread and onion rings, tho the landlady told her that if she didn't fancy anything on the menu for future visits to just say what she fancied and they would do... Yet another faultless visit here. Booked ahead although it wasn't that busy anyhow so could have got away with just turning up. As ever a selection of your typical (but a lot lot better quality ) pub food such as gammon and steaks along with the slightly less pub like dishes such as the pasta etc . Staff were friendly...
