Welcoming environment and home cooked food

We were keen to find somewhere quick and simple on one Thursday evening, on our way to the coast. Despite it being quite late, we were welcomed here. The portions were large and reasonably priced.

We were on a caravan holiday at Pembrey, and after realising the rain was not going to stop we decided to head for Carmarthen to do a little shopping and have lunch. Obviously everyone else did the same and we spent a miserable half hour looking for somewhere to eat, all the pubs were full and fussy teenage daughter didn't... More

Ate here whilst on business in the area. Service very good, food good. Excellent thst you could have cask ale from the adjoining pub to drink. Had the early bird menu which was very reasonable. Would return.

Recommended this restaurant to attend whilst on a friends Stag weekend. Had a nice big table sorted for us on arrival out of the way of smaller tables. The food was on the whole good, but, service was generally very poor. We had not been drinking, as we had been out all day climbing and rafting. We were looking to... More

Visited on Saturday evening for dinner with a friend. I had booked but only noticed a few tables were reserved so probably could have got away without booking. We had the 3 course special menu and there was plenty of choice. Chicken goujons were hot and delicious, steak was tasty too. Served very quickly by pleasant staff. We were left... More

Staying in the nearby Spilman hotel on a business trip this restaurant was close, excellent value, not too busy friendly with good friendly service. The portions were an excellent size, freshly prepared, very hot and served quickly. The belly pork starter was weell prepared, hot and very tasty. The Rib eye steak is the best steak I have ever had... More

Had the 2 for £12 option, the steak and mushrooms pie was very nice. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

Went here with a large family party, about 14 of us. Friendly staff and the food was fine but nothing special. I had the roast dinner, they plate up the meat and you then serve yourself from the vegetables and accompaniments at a counter. Not ideal when you are a large party as there isn't much room and it gets... More

Hadn't been to Hamilton's for some 2years and whilst the ownership seems to have changed, the food remained good! Visited last Sunday at 12.30 pm, had not booked and restaurant downstairs was full to bursting, offered table upstairs, service was good, friendly and efficient. Food comprising of Sunday lunch was plated up with plenty of good quality meat and you... More
