This is a review of afternoon tea, not a hotel stay. Presentation was not as pleasing as expected (having experienced afternoon tea at several hotels). It was no better than an ordinary coffee/tea shop/café. Tea composed of a choice of a round of sandwiches, a choice of one cake, one scone jam and cream and one welsh cake. One pot... More

Great staff here! Delicious white rioja! The main dishes seemed different from usual, which was v much needed here. We had the lamb , pork, and the fish . All cooked 3 ways! My fish was really delicious, love all the food on One plate. Pet hate of mine is boring boiled veg! It came with pretty sauce spinach and... More

Interesting history to this place which makes you appreciate it all the more. It's a great little town anyway, lovely walks, shopping and atmosphere. We had Sunday lunch with a glass of chardonnay and were very satisfied with our starters (smoked duck salad, and crab/crayfish cake) and mains (traditional roast beef & Yorkshire pud). They were getting ready for a... More

Treated friends to a midweek lunch and by going to such a quality hotel we had a splendid time. The atmosphere was lovely and the seating was perfect. The food was top rate and no one bothered us to leave early. We will most certainly return.

We visited Cawdor Arms for a special occasion lunch with friends and ate off the 3 courses set menu.. Not only did everyone enjoy a super meal with interesting choices but the manager on reception, Sharon Plowman, went out of her way to ensure that everything was superbly handled from greeting us to arranging extra touches. It was a really... More

I would like to recommend the Cawdor restaurant, I've just had lunch there and it was outstanding. I went with five friends and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The service was exemplary and it was great value for money. Excellent choice on the menu. Go, you won't be dissappointed.

I often come here for meals - especially when it's a special occasion & have never been disappointed. I celebrated my 30th birthday here & have had countless meals over the years. Mary & all of staff are always very friendly, helpful & polite. I have recommended many people to dinehere, and they have all been pleasantly surprised by the... More

This is a nice place but far over rated. If it was half teh price might just be value for money! Staff very pleasant, but very little Welsh.
