OK Food, poor service!!

Called in here for Sunday lunch, ordered the Sunday Platter for two which arrived quite promptly. The meal was ok, but we noticed that no-one came to ask us if everything was alright, or to ask if we wanted any more drinks. After our meal we ordered a mini pudding which comes with a tea or coffee... read more

The service was very slow, our main courses came before the staff had cleared our starters away. We had a drink brought to us on a tray put down on our table with someone else's dirty plates on! Our mains didn't get cleared away 15 minutes after we finished eating! When they were cleared we got asked if we wanted... More

Family of 5 for lunch, ordered food straight away, and lucky for us we did, long wait for food. We were placed at the back of the pub, ( maybe because we had 3 children) it was very cold, food took about 40 minutes to arrive for a bacon-Brie sandwich. Glad they had given us crayons and paper menu, food... More

My husband and I went for lunch here yesterday after a nice sunny walk along the canal. We sat outside in the lovely seating area and were surprised how busy it was even on a Tuesday afternoon, but managed to get a table immediately anyway. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time and was clearly freshly made. There... More

Welcome watering hole in Yorkshire Dale. Excellent view of narrow boat traffic and wild life on the canal over lunch. Very cosy with log fire. Serve Timothy Taylors which is always a plus. Food enjoyable but overdid the lettuce. Glad I had the beer as people were complaining about the coffee (serves them right). Good value for money and good... More

We came here twice last year while visiting Skipton and were looking forward to eating here again but sadly the food didn't seem to be so good. Nothing particularly wrong but it was very ordinary pub food that didn't enthuse or impress. The service was a bit slow too.

Quick service. Food good. Better than expected. Didn't need a pudding. Reasonably priced. Pleasant atmosphere.

We stopped here early Thursday evening 26th of March. Tried the bar first and were asked to choose a table, someone will come to take your order. 15 minutes later a waitress arrived took our drinks order then disappeared, another 10 minutes passed before our drinks came when we forced our food order for starters and mains upon her. The... More

Popped in on our way home from walking in the dales, greeted very pleasantly and served swiftly. Food was fantastic, the pate is divine and the steak was amazing. The hunters chicken looked great as well. Staff pretty busy but still very attentive and efficient. Will definitely be back when in the area.
