Narrowboat and beer engine Lovely

The narrow boat, and the beer engine just around the corner, are both wonderful real ale pubs. The half decent lagers are expensive (ask the price) but the ales are lovely.

My wife and I visited the narrow boat pub in Skipton today for a pub lunch and I had pork belly with new potatoes, kale and bacon. The meal was absolutely delicious in fact it was the best pork belly I have ever had! My wife had the minute peppered steak with ciabatta bread, onions and chips which she enjoyed very much.... More

My wife and I stumbled across this pub and ordered a burger and a steak sandwich. Both were well cooked and fresh. The onion rings were the best I've ever had... Christ till the last. Enjoyed the food and the staff were really nice. I'll go again

Great value for money especially the early bird special two courses for £11.50. Large portions staff very friendly would definitely go back when in Skipton next time would try the lunchtime menu as well

If you're after a range of beers, no music, (just the sound of people talking), and a friendly atmosphere, then this is the pub to go to. And don't worry, there aren't any of those Bearded, bar hogging Camra types!

The Narrow Boat is a proper beer drinker's pub serving an intersting range of hand-pulled cask beers. The popularity of the pub means turnover is fast and the beers are usually fresh. You wouldn't go here to drink Eurofizz, be deafened by bad music or watch endless sport on big screens. There isn't an obvious host in the sense of a... More

I hired the function room for an engagement tea party this weekend and it was perfect! We did our own catering but the staff were very attentive and happy to help despite being very busy in the bar down stairs. The venue was very clean and provided us with plenty of room for people to sit or sand allowing us... More

Love it here, and love trying out all the different ales and bitters - staff are friendly, and it's always full of the locals too!

Great Beer, according to Hubby, Service for food very slow. Ordered Chicken Burger tasteless and with skin still on not cooked at all. Mentioned to staff and was asked do you want a refund or wait for another burger. I asked if Chicken was in date and was told "Everything is date stamped" No not waiting for another burger. Payed... Will not return for food. Service was awful and took an hour for food to be served with no apology from any member of staff
