Sheltering from the July rain...

We sat in the front of the bar on two lovely brown leather chairs with 'woolly sheep' rugs on; a lovely comfortable spot and a nice pint of Timothy Taylor. We were trying to update my iPhone and needed wifi - the helpful waitress printed off a code and we sat waiting for the update to install... read more

My Wife and I eat here on a Saturday night. The pub was packed with some VERY noisy young persons at the bar who shrieked and made a lot of noise which detracted from the meal. The two dishes on the menu that we wanted were "off" and out of the the other dishes only the fish and chips appealed... More

When we called into the restaurant on the afternoon of our visit, the staff said they couldn't find our booking. There were 8 of us so this was important - they did say that they could accommodate us that evening, but it was a concern. The food was good and well served but it was difficult to hold much of... We have visited The Woolly Sheep in the past and whilst it keeps its standard high we will go back whenever we are in the area, not least because of the Timothy Taylor beers We had the selection of bread, oils, garlic butter and olive as a shared started. Simple but satisfying. There were several tempting options on the updated... More

Food excellent every time I have gone over the past couple of years. Service significantly deteriorating over the last several months. A couple of months ago we cancelled a cheese plate after waiting 40 minutes for it. Last Sunday waitress dumped tray of dirty dishes on us and didn't offer to give us a free drink. Watched waitresses with poor... More

You could walk past The Woolly Sheep, but if you do you're missing a treat! We were fortunately attracted by their witty message on an A frame on the pavement, and dived in out of an English rainy summer Sunday. Were we glad we did! Staff were friendly, food (and beer!) just as welcoming. Three of our party had the... More

My wife and I called in to the Woodley Sheep Skipton to have a quiet drink and lunch with a view to staying a couple of nights in the pub. What we witnessed by the manager ( with glasses on ) was a gutless despicable public outrage directed at what appeared to be his wife or partner. She told him... More

Popped in here for a lunchtime drink on a miserable wet day in Skipton. Beer was Timothy Taylor and was excellent. Didn't try the food as we had already had a large breakfast, but from what we saw the meals looked good.

The Wholly Sheep has always had a great atmosphere and service and they have now opened a great new room which is fresh and modern but does not lose any of the traditional feel look out for the chandelier made of glasses a great touch! My fish and chips were fresh and such good value I really recommend it and... More

Right in the centre of Skipton it serves good fare in a good surroundings and the staff are friendly and helpful. Word of warning if you want a quick meal and seating avoid market day as it is somewhat crowded.
