when we ordered our cooked lunch we were not told there would be any delay and as there were only 4 other tables we had not expected one.We had finished our drinks by the time the food came, 50 mins after ordering. My sirloin steak was great, cooked nice and rare, but hubby's belly pork press was not what was described. We booked for Sunday lunch and frankly it was a major disappointment. Tardy service and very average food made for a poor experience at £17 a head. Its one saving grace was the well-kept beer. 21st best restaurant in Skipton would fairly sum it up.

Went for lunch, were told it would be a 45 min to an hour wait. We returned 45 mins later and were shown to a table waited a while for the menu to be bought. We then had to wait an age for the food and drinks to be ordered. The food when it did arrive however was gorgeous, Perhaps... More

We were not sure where to eat in Skipton as many cafes close before 1700. Visited several and not impressed..until we tried this Restaurant. Welcoming environment, nice and warm. The greeting was warm also. The menu and specials were much to our liking so we decided to dine. Good call! Beccy was friendly and attentive throughout without being intrusive. Wine... More

Varied, interesting menu and always lives up to expectations. Staff are friendly and were happy to engage in a conversation about a member of the party with a food allergy and were cautious about checking which items off the menu were allergy safe.

As long as you are not expecting another wonderful it is a good place to have something to eat on a lunch time. The meals are on the dear side and I prefer the sandwiches which are all very nice. Good coffee as well, but plenty of ales to choose from.

The atmosphere is rustic Old England. This is an authentic British Pub with a fireplace and a cozy sitting area. Try the Feather Blade, a cut of beef from the shoulder. It's delicious. Or try the lamb. Wash either down with a Taylor's Landlord or your favorite Ale! You won't be disappointed.
