Whilst staying in Skipton with friends, we visited The Woolley Sheep Inn for our evening meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we found the menu well stocked and a good specials board, although they had started to sell out of some of the specials. Service was relatively quick and the food was beautifully cooked and well presented. Sweets... More

Enjoyed a leisurely lunch in this comfortable high street pub in their separate elevated dining area following a good write up in the previous week's Saturday Yorkshire Post; plenty of choice on the Menu and the Specials Board ranging from sandwiches to light bites and more substantial dishes; food was very good quality, nicely presented with attentive service; will be... Really good chef cooked food, with a varied menu. The chef's home cooked black pudding is one of the best I have tasted.

Absolutely delighted we found this pub on a flying visit to Skipton (a place we have found has an abundance of very good pubs). We shared a really yummy fish finger sandwich which came with stunning home made chips. The fish fingers were breaded in a beer batter and were clearly made in house, it was a generous portion and... We called on Sunday for lunch: the food was really good and the service was excellent. Remember this is a town centre boozer so, expect a bit of noise and the usual nutters but don't be put off of the restaurant staff were more than a match for Sundays mob. We enjoyed our visit and we will call again

Visited Saturday lunch time for catch up with a friend. The pub was very busy but we were shown a table in the restaurant area at the back. Lovely, bright & clean & our server was fantastic. Menus were brought & our drinks order taken & we were left to peruse the extensive menu & specials board. Plenty to chose... More

We happened upon this eatery whilst wandering round Skipton looking for somewhere to eat. A warm welcome was received, and we were offered a drink at the bar whilst we waited for a table to become available. Good choice of food and drink, pleasant and friendly service and the four of us enjoyed ourselves (two adults and two children). Toilets... More

We went here after reading that this pub had recently won 'Best Pub in Yorkshire' and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant was full so it was lucky that we had reserved a table in advance. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the range of ales on offer. We both had a starter - the special of belly pork and... More
