The tiny snug at the front of the pub is cosy and intimate, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. My husband and I always order the Bolt Maker which is a really good pint of beer. A visit to Skipton would not be complete without a pint, or two, at the Woolly Sheep.

Lovely pub with a great selection of award winning real ales. Menu consists of typical pub grub but it is cooked to a very high standard. The meal was topped off with real good service, friendly and prompt. Top choice for a good pub meal.

I love to come this place. Happy people and good food. The evening dinner (and breakfast if you stay in the Inn) is very good. The lunch leaves room for improvement. In the evening it is a great place to bring your friends for a beer, it is a cozy place and you can sit and talk near the fireplace.... More

Delicious Sunday lunch, not much on their menu for non red meat eaters though. One of our party had to have a cheese board as their needs were not catered for.

Lovely lovely old pub with the friendliest, nicest staff ever. The fish was beautiful, light batter and no bones and really fresh. My husband says the dripping chips are 'the way ahead' and enjoyed his craft sausagesx3. We tried to rebook for the weekend but understandably it's mobbed all weekend with a first come first served thing 'til 18h tomorrow... More

We visited Skipton as part of the preparation for the Tour de France which would zoom through the town later that week. We spied a pleasant but unassuming pub in Sheep Street and thought the food might be OK. It was far, far better than OK. The chef produced some really outstanding meals: my pad fried cod with scallops and... More
