Four of us ate here on Friday 15th May and Saturday 16th, we hadn't booked a table on either night but they managed to find us a table, although both nights they did give us a time limit because the tables were booked for later in the evening, that was fair enough. On both nights all of our meals were... More

We went to the above on Saturday 17th May. There were four of us to have a meal and a catch up session. Everything about the place was terrible. We ordered four steaks. They were approx three inch square with a tiny spoonful of mash potato, a little veg and a minute pot of some type of mushroom paste. For around... More

Nice Taylors beer and quite an extensive menu of fairly quirky homemade food. The pea and ham risotto had masses of ham and a little rice so was a bit rich and overwhelming. Spicy sausage and mash was simple but good. Service/environment wise the place didnt seem like a 'happy ship', staff seemed a bit glum but did their job.... More

We visited the Woolly Sheep today for lunch and both enjoyed the food. It took a while to arrive but it was clear the food was cooked to order and not microwaved, so it was worth the wait. The sausages I had were delicious. The pub itself is traditional in style and offered a really good selection of real ales... More

Visited here on Saturday May 9th for lunch. It was truly the worst, most blasé, service I have ever received. On sitting down at 15.10, our drinks order was promptly taken by a young waitress who looked half asleep. The menu looked very sophisticated for carnivores; I ordered haunch of venison with dauphinoise and blackcurrants. My girlfriend, annoyingly a vegetarian,... More

Great, central pub that gets really busy at night. We would definately stay there again as long as we would get a room on the higher floors (the bar gets really busy and loud at nights).

Our visit for dinner was a real treat - the food and service were really first class. Let it not be said that a Sunday Roast is easy to produce in quality - it is not and this one was one of the very best. The beef was tasty, tender and lean, the roasties were crispy and the Yorkshires towered... More

Visited Skipton on Saturday in the lovely sunshine. I had looked on TA before the trip and decided to try this place. Wasnt sure about it when we found it,it looked tiny with a little ginnel as the entrance.....but so glad we went inside. Inside is full of charm with a great atmosphere and it has a brill suntrap beer... More
