Didn't eat here...Just called in for a drink when passing through Skipton. Lovely traditional pub with a great range of cask ales!

Visited here over the Christmas period for lunch. The pub itself is lovely and had a great atmosphere, and the food was delicious (I recommend the pork, leek and black pepper sausages). Friendly staff too.

New years day was such a fun day, and all the guests were amazing. We get the sausages from an award wining butchers in Yorkshire - ripon called R&J butchers, the chefs put the finishing touches on and they are as you say 'amazing'. Im really pleased you enjoyed yourselves and have a great year! More

This pub looks so small that you could walk past without realising what lies inside. A meal with stunningly good food and great prices. My goat cheese starter was a picture on a plate, amazing colour and texture but it tasted even better than it looked. Followed by an amazing take on Christmas dinner, roasted brussels sprouts, a great turkey... More

The chefs put a lot of work into everything they do, and especially Christmas. So thank you for your kind comments. Ive relayed it to them and even bought them a pint. To be honest even I cant wait to see what they can do next year. More

This is a very old drinking establishment with a great deal of atmosphere and character. We visited this hostelry during a weekend visit to Skipton. The two male members of the party were very impressed with the variety beers on offer. The atmosphere is very welcoming especially when you come in from a cold to see real coal fire. Due... More

Very busy town centre pub. Nice and warm and cosy. Lots of real ales. The only downside was the price of the beer. I found it a little on the expensive side compared to over here in Lancashire..

2nd visit to The Woolly Sheep and was not let down. We didn't have a booking on a busy Saturday lunchtime and although we didn't have a table right away we were given clear waiting times and shown to the bar if we wanted to wait. Timothy Taylor ales on draught are excellent by the way. The waiter came to... More

We had lunch in this pub earlier in the week, it had been recommended by friends for the food quality. This recommendation was spot on, although very busy my request for a quiet table was met. The staff are very efficient and we did not feel rushed. The ambiance is warm welcoming and friendly with the added pleasure of a... More

Met our friends there and didn't know what to expect........small Pub from outside real ale all that. Thoroughly enjoyed the food chosen from a great menu and served by some young waitresses who had obviously been trained "how to do it " Great.....and the ale is to die for !!!!!!!!
