Great things come in small packages!

Chianti Bistro is always a nice experience. The staff are attentive and very knowledgeable of their food and alcohol. Their risotto never fails. They change their menu's regularly but we are never disappointed as there's always very interesting dishes to choose from. I was in a group of 8 last time I visited and the atmosphere is really nice for... More

This delightful little bistro is a family affair and serves fabulous italian comfort food. The gnocchi with wild mushrooms is one of my seasonal favourites. While small there is no skimping on quality and hospitality. The menu is a little limited however this is a once a month must.

Nice Italian bistro. Awesome croquettes, nice fish main, both side dishes are good, desserts not bad either. Interesting wine list. Service was friendly and efficient. Decor needs a lift. Still looks very 70s and 80s. Mind you the music from that era that was playing was awesome. I enjoyed the night but it's not cheap here - eg $4 each... More

I had high expectations of this place run by the owners of the amazing Mixed Business cafe down the road. The vibe once you step in as actually quite nice, better than it looks from the outside. Staff also very friendly. But food was hit an miss. We had oysters and the croquette for starter which were good, as was... More

We just moved into the area and have just been to Chianti for the first time. The food and wine were a revelation! What impressed us was the freshness of the food, the quiet but attentive service and the excellent, if limited, wine list. This was a quiet Australia Day weekend and we would encourage others to support this gem... More

A small recently refurbished place. Well worth visiting. We had a table of 8 and they offered us their upstairs private function room. Great place for a family get together. Had a drink at the little bar downstairs whilst waiting for others to arrive. We were a little flummoxed by the Italian wines but the wait person was most helpful.... More

I was invited to visit this restaurant at the request of my daughter (who is certainly 'hipper' than I am) and was therefore not sure what to expect. But it was all good. The restaurant itself is not large and therefore not too noisy even on a Saturday night when we were there. The wait staff did a first class... More

It's so good to see Chianti refreshed and delicious in our hood. It was always such a comfort food restaurant with the owner, Franco. Now the new guard are focusing on great service and Italian pizzazz. The Osso Bucco was outstanding and the brussel sprouts with pancetta was great. The wine list is a tad expensive.

This place is affordable, ambience is very rustic, wood fire and wine cellar. Menu on black board adjusted daily. Food is fresh. I had the chicken tirolese and my wife had the rissoto marinara. Very tast and fresh. The desserts only 5 on the menu. However the tiramisu was unbelievable the taste and size. Also offered gluten free option and... More
