Stopped here on speck for lunch. Although car park was full, there was still room inside, and we had no difficulty in finding a table. Where we were ordering for drinks and food was done at the bar. waiting times were short and service fast and friendly. Food was very good, with large portion size. Well cooked and served hot.... Visited at the weekend with a friend who had the lamb from the normal menu which she said was very good. I had the roast beef which was pretty average. The Yorkshire looked like a frozen aunt Bessie type and when I sent it back as it was cold and soggy the replacement was no better so I gave up!... More

Have visited this pub a few times and had been pleased with service and food. However, today neither were good. We both had roast chicken. It tasted of haddock apparently. I say apparently as i do not eat fish, i hate it, but it was definitely fish tasting. My husband does eat fish and likes it but even he could... More

We had lunch here with friends, the food was actually pretty good it is on the expensive side but tasted nice. The service was a little hit and miss although there were not many people eating trying to find a member of staff to get us the bill took ages. Would definitely go back again.

My wife, two kids and I had lunch here a few days ago and were really impressed by the standard of food. We'd not been for a couple of years, due to pretty poor 'pub food' and bad service, however things have clearly improved. Excellent value, nice surroundings and good staff.

My first visit to the red Lion in some years for a spur of the moment Sunday Roast. A lovely location, a well designed and decorated establishment in tranquil setting with a relaxed atmosphere. Three of us for Sunday dinner, a great menu to choose from but Sunday lunch it was. Two Trio's of roast pork, chicken and rib of... More

The food was good and it's not my first time in the restaurant. But I was annoyed by a tall girl wearing glasses who served us and suggest you teach your staff to do better job, because it's important that they know how to treat their guests. When we chose the table outside, there were still plates and glasses left... More

We were 4 people having an early lunch on Bank Holiday Sunday and were really impressed by the Red Lion. They have an efficient on line booking system which is better than most restaurants. This historic building has been well restored, retaining all the old features while at the same time feeling up to date and bright. The menu had... More
