Nice place for a spot of lunch

Just got back from a decent lunch at The Red Lion with the missus. The pub itself is a pleasant mix of rustic and modern, the menu is solid and the staff seemed friendly. I had a whole baked trout which was delicious. As an ale drinker the fact that they only had one on the pump was a little... read more

Popped in for lunch and had a very fine seafood and chorizo linguini. Very nice and good service. A big friendly country pub.

This large chain pub is near us & we use it regularly.it has a pleasant garden & lots of parking. It never disappoints. The menu is imaginative and varied, the food is well presented, the staff attentive & friendly. Always busy, table booking recommended

I had a lovely lunch here the other day. The sun was out so we decided to sit outside. As we were sitting in the pub section we had to go to the bar to order our food and drink. The menu was vast and there was plenty to choose from. It was certainly not your bog standard pub food.... More

A group of us ate here and on the whole everyone seemed to enjoy their food, no real problem here. My fillet steak was really good (was hoping so for £23!). The major thing that took away from the experience was service. When we got drinks at the bar, the barman was miserable and when one of us asked to... More

Just came away after eating snacky lunch with three friends. We all had their starter of pretty mushrooms in a creamy sauce and brioche. Came served in a small frying pan, with vege crisps on top - just delicious and I'll certainly be having that again! Good coffee but really expensive tonic water at £2.50. For such a staple it... Never go anywhere else. Best food ever, standard menu with additions changing every week plus specials. All fresh and cooked to perfection, never had cause to complain. Nice atmosphere, good service from friendly staff. Spent numerous Christmas Day Lunches here, nice touch with names on tables. Would definitely recommend and I'm fussy !!

We ate here with friends on Friday night. Great service and great food apart from the chips, which were soft as if they'd been standing around for hours. Happy to recommend.

Four of us ate here tonight for my birthday, had drinks and looked at the menu outside, then moved in to order and sit at our table. Young guy behind the bar was great, had a laugh as we ordered. I wish more bar / restaurant staff were like him, so many are just no fun and boring!! If it... More

Visited this restaurant with family to celebrate a 70th birthday. We visited this venue beforehand to choose the table we wanted and check it was ok to bring the birthday cake down earlier in the day. Which of course was ok with this restaurant, they were very accommodating. The venue was very welcoming, warm & friendly atmosphere but very professional... More
