Went for lunch today hoping that the last time we went when. the food was not very good was a blip. Unfortunately today the sandwich my husband had was awful, he had a cheese and chutney. 1 slice of processed cheese, lots of rocket and a bit of chutney for £5. Very bad value. We have been going there for... More

My husband and I had supper at the North Star last Saturday evening and we found it absolutely delightful. The Landlord was a charming man as was our waiter and waitress. We had our dog with us and the Landlord and our waiter and waitress made us all very welcome - we couldn't have wished for better service. We chose... More

I hope I am not going through a rough patch. Went to my 'local'. Good service (relief manager) even made me a Guinness shandy (10/10) my friend had red snapper and he said was delicious. I had lamb shank. Whilst was nice and hot, it was so tough. I sent back send it came back the same. Oh dear. I... More

Felt the place didn't want children in the pub even though they advertise as a family pub.... Don't think after witnessing what happened I'll be going back to this place any time soon... One member of staff was very rude to a paying customer. Liked the bar and toilets were very clean but watching someone kick off about members of... More

Had lunch with my mum and my friend. We ordered roast lamb sadly it was sold out. Owner was very apologetic and we chose an alternative. Very generous portions of meat , potatoes and veg. Lovely gravy too. Staff checked that everything was ok while we were eating. Aside from the main menu there was a specials board and a... More

I've been to The North Star a couple of times for a meal and never had anything bad to say about it. The food is delicious and I always look forward to going there again. To start I had the most delicious hummus and bread I've ever tasted. The hummus was creamy and a generous portion, the bread was soft... More

This is a pub we have started to visit fairly regularly because of the consistent quality of its food a friendly service. There is a wide range on offer from the standard menu, supplemented by a board of 'specials' which change on a regular basis. Good food a fair prices.

Not been here recently but really surprised at how good my ham egg and chips were. Thickly cut, very tender ham, eggs with perfectly set whites and runny yolks and exceptionally good chips. My wife didn't stop saying how good her fish, chips and mushy peas were as well, best cooked fish for ages- cooked to perfection with excellent thin... More
