Great for a special occasion and one of the few places in Truro that still serves more traditional food. Great if you have a fussy eater in your party who's not much for spicy food. 3 course set menu is great value if it happens to offer something you fancy. Not cheap of course - 3 courses may set you... More

We have been going to Saffron for several years now and found it consistently good food and lovely people who run it. The atmosphere has been just right . We called yesterday for our shopping lunch treat and found the place closed for refurbishment, what a panic this caused between my husband and myself......., where could we go? We have... More

Thank you for your posting. Saffron does indeed have new owners - myself and my wife Lucy recently took the business on, and made the decision to refurbish it as nothing had been done to it in 10 years. As well as an opportunity to give the space a freshen up, we also re-wired, addressed the heating and insulation, and... More

Good location if you are going to halls for Cornwall. They do an interesting pre show menu. Not huge portions but just right if you have two or three of the pre show courses with a glass of wine.

Nice little restaurant that offers local produce served in innovative ways. You can usually find something different here - not the run of the mill food you might get elsewhere. For example I had herrings in oatmeal recently which were superb. My partner loves the 7 deadly sins breakfast. They do very good pre theatre dinners too.

My wife & I have been to Saffron twice for a lunchtime meal, and have been very impressed with both the presentation & tasty food on offer. There wasn't the greatest choice, but I would rather have limited choices done well, than many choices done badly. we will certainly visit Saffron again.

On a recent late night shopping trip in Truro we stopped in for supper at Saffron. The staff were really helpful and very nice, seating us at a window table . We both decided to have glasses of red wine followed by the scallop, mash and black pudding main. This was an unusual pairing that worked well. The only disappointing aspect... More

We chose to eat here as we had heard good reviews. The service was incredibly slow, possibly even forgetting us on occasions although the waitresses were pleasant enough. The choices looked very interesting on the menu so that it was difficult to decide. However we chose to eat the £19.50 three course lunch. Everything was disappointing except the red cabbage... We visit this area of Cornwall annually around November and for the past couple of years have eaten lunch here in Saffron, Truro. On previous occasions i must say we have been more than happy with all aspects of the restaurants, staff, service, food, quality etc etc.... hence the reason for coming back year on year & not even considering... Whoever writes the menus for this restaurant knows their stuff and makes the dishes sound fantastic. The food sounded seasonal, inventive and using great combinations. We ordered the set menu which at a shade under £20 appeared to be great value for a three course dinner. The fig and goat’s cheese salad was OK but the figs were slimy and... More
