Shabby chic its not, just shabby service and poor quality. Poor staff, wobbly tables, expensive for quality, full of tweed and floral wearing oldies, don't dress up for dinner here. very disappointing. more

This utterly charming little restaurant conceals a truly amazing chef who isn't afraid to experiment. Last week we went in for lunch as we sometimes do. My wife had her usual Saffron Club sandwich - bacon, chicken, beef in three layers, all locally sourced and mouth-wateringly tender. I always browse and choose. I've always had delicious seasonal food in Saffron and they offer lots of different set menus to appeal to different tastes and pockets. There are also some lovely touches, such as homemade bread before the meal. Good food in a relaxed atmosphere - what more could you want? more
