Great venue for a coffee but the staff lack empathy

This cafe serves great coffee and the staff are usually good. I go in regularly for a coffee and a cake it lunch. This week I had my labradoodle with me and I was greeted by a member of staff who abruptly said 'dogs only in this area' - there were no seats! Think before you speak before you upset... read more

We had our daughters birthday party by truro arts company "arty party". The party was truly wonderful thankyou so much! Superb party host! Creative fun, lovely games and dancing. The party food was excellent! Great atmosphere, again thank-you.

Despite a rather indifferent experience here a few months ago, my friend and I ventured back today for drinks and cakes with our toddlers. Never have I felt so unwelcome in a cafe. As it was late morning, my friend went to the counter to ask whether they were serving the children's lunches lised on the menu yet; the bearded... More

I met a friend here as we had some business to discuss. Really comfortable seating areas and friendly service. We both really enjoyed the hot chocolate; it was superb. It was the first time I had visited the Arts Cafe but I shall return.

Next to the Royal Cornwall Museum, a pleasantly furnished room serving a range of food at reasonable prices. I can recommend the cream tea!

This is a lovely place to have lunch when you are in Truro but unfortunately I had very poor customer service - I love the mixed salad plates but cannot eat the potato salad ,so asked if I could have a spoonful of hummus instead - only if I paid an extra £1 !!! So they take off the potato... More

Coffee here is a must, and I've been a coffee nutjob for, well a lot longer than the recent upsurge. Look up Origin Coffee - they're Cornish and it's good to see a fair few cafés using it. Anyway, food quality in here is also very good for sandwich / salad type things. I hate ordering the same thing but... More

My friends and I were swiftly served with a delicious vegetarian savoury and salad. The ambience was attractive and bright with pretty decorations which were for sale in the Arts Shop.

I met a friend for coffee and we sat on really comfortable settees and nattered for over an hour. I liked the fact nobody disturbed us and it felt homely. One friend left and another arrived and we both had quiche and salad from the specials lunch menu. Really enjoyed it particularly as the quiche had been warmed up. This... More

I've eaten here several times now for a quick lunch and I've always gone for the simple salad option. Mainly because it's great value, constantly changing, I don't think I've had the same meal twice despite this. Staff are friendly and curteous. Food is fresh, and as I said good value. Highly recommended for a lunch time. And in the... More
