4 of us visited the Wig & Pen for lunch after seeing other reviews. We have to say that the service and food is excellent and very well priced. We all had a Sandwhich each and they were all very well presented on wooden boards with hand made crisps. Our 4 year old had fish and chips and was well... More

I have passed this pub many times before and never thought about eating here. I went for lunch here, the food was incredible! I had ploughmans, pickled walnuts are incredible! The children's menu was mini versions of the main menu which was a really nice touch! I proceeded to tell the manager this and she informed me that next week... More

We recently had a family meal at the restaurant and all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Staff were friendly and were prompt with service. The slow cooked brisket was one of the best I've ever had. The beef was moist, potatoes were just right, and the carrot and swede sauce was fantastic. We had no complaints for our food, it's just... More

Pub nice from outside, we had an awful lunch on a special day, the staff were very pleasant but very let down by the lunch

It's a shame to read a review like this. I have tried to contact the reviewer directly by messaging them several times but have had no response. Unfortunately due to the lack of details about the visit I am unable to offer a reasonable response. Given the visit was that bad that it prompted this reviewer to join Tripadvisor to... More

Found myself in Truro with colleagues for work at the local Crown Court. Once finished and with 5 hours to kill before catching our train, we decided on the Wig and Pen and were not disappointed. The service from a lovely girl called Chrissie was friendly and while I was on the diet cokes and coffees (which were both perfectly... More

Had lunch here the other day and have previously enjoyed a roast here. Both really enjoyed our food. Having had disappointing experiences at some of the newer restaurants in Truro recently such as Sam's in the City and Mustard and Rye it was a joy to come somewhere where the food was cooked well and it tasted great! Both of... More

The food was ok. We have a lady who was vegetarian in our party. We dined down stairs, though we were NOT told we could mix and match upstairs menu with downstairs menu. Our friend wanted the veggie option from upstairs, but was refused. So she had to order what she didn't like and picked around it all evening. Wine... More

We visited for lunch on a rainy day and we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. We both had separate items from the menu (Sunday roast with beef and potato skins) and neither of us could have complained at the quality of the food. The roast was delicious and the potato skins were not what you would normally expect... More
