A lovely ambience and friendly staff but let down by the incredibly tiny portions - left hungry got home and made a sandwich!

Holidaying nearby I visited Gravy with a friend on her recommendation and was delighted. The staff were friendly and helpful, the meal smashing and, although a bit pricey, it was value for money. The room itself is not special but the overall atmosphere almost makes up for that. Well worth a visit.

Attempts at a really foodie restaurant in Truro seem to have failed in the past, so long may Gravy flourish. Our meal was absolutely delicious, interesting, complicated food which tasted wonderful. The service was cheerful (I love being offered a jug of tap water before having to ask), and if I have one picky fault (chef please note) it seemed... More

Gravy never disappoints. Except for when I tried to book a party of 12 for a catering college reunion. Then I was disappointed because they wouldn't do it. Too many for them to get the food out simultaneously. Anyway last night, the four of us had another fine meal, commencing with home baked bread. If I was being really picky... More

This is the first review I have ever written about a local restaurant, which gives some idea of how good it was. We went to Gravy earlier in the week to celebrate our anniversary as a result of reading reviews on Tripavisor so many thanks to all those who have objectively reviewed the restaurant. My starter, pigeon breast, was the... More

We hadn't eaten here for a few years, not because it wasn't good but under the old owners the prices kept increasing to the point it became a special occasion venue rather than a regular one and it coincided with the nearby Wig and Pen coming good - sadly the Wig is now a shadow of what it was so... We had a fantastic night last night at Gravy... not only did the food look beautiful and taste amazing; the service was slick, staff were entertaining and there was a bit of eye candy for both of us!! We enjoyed a few drinks, 3 courses and had a bloody good old knees up. These chefs certainly know how to cook... More

Gravy is all you could want for a meal out. The food is always amazing, a great place to go and try foods you may not have had before because you know it is always to be cooked to perfection. It has a great atmosphere, and if you are lucky enough to sit near the kitchen area you can watch... More
