Voted in the 20 top Curry restaurants in the UK. You will find the Kathmandu in the shadow of the Cathedral in the heart of Truro. A cosy and relaxed establishment in Truro, the Kathmandu is hosted by charismatic and friendly hosts Raj and his family. Fresh herbs and ingredients are used to ensure the best curry experience, so that you can enjoy eating healthier and exotic Nepalese flavours. As a result the mouthwatering dishes are a lot lighter and more subtle than traditional Indian fayre.

Lamb bhuna and chicken biriani both great, not too hot. Biriani sauce had fresh crunchy vegetables - spot on. Excellent service, cosy ambiance, hard to beat.

I live about 30 minutes away, but this is my go to restaurant. Great menu and good quality Indian food, however the Nepalese dishes are the real gems. Non oily light and extremely tasty. My family including 2 young children are always welcomed. It is obvious as you watch people coming into the restaurant, that the management and staff have... More

A small intimate place in central Truro, there is plenty of competition in location for this place, but not in the combination of taste and price. Not the most impressive ambience inside, it is a simple and quite functional seating area without chic decor, and is probably not the place to impress a companion with how nice the place looks.... I visited this restaurant several times during my business trips to Cornwall. Never been disappointed. Food is delicious. You can choose from Nepalese dishes to traditional Indian curries. Very pleasant atmosphere created by restaurant's staff. Please remember to book in advance if you want to get a table on Friday or Saturday.

Being fairly local I crave the food being served. The portions are great and the taste is out of this world. Amazingly friendly staff. Very warm and welcoming. I cannot emphasise how brilliant the food is. Eat there at least once a week.

I enjoyed Himali Chicken but found it hard to choose. As usual with Nepalese style, the food avoided the usual greasy, oiliness of many so-called 'Indian' restaurants.

4 of us went last night and had a lovely meal. Since it was Saturday night it was fully booked so please remember to book early at weekends. We had everything from Chicken Dhansak to Lamb Biriani, Chicken tikka and a prawn dish. All were served perfectly and the keema nam bread was superb since I hate it when all... More
