We have eaten at The Bell on a couple of occasions over the last couple of months, and every time the food has been excellent. Mixed roast platter on a Sunday was lovely and the spicy prawn, crab and chorizo linguine was fabulous. Never disappointed when we eat there

I don't often go out for Sunday lunch but my friend and I figured we deserved a treat yesterday - sadly we didn't get one at The Bell. The chicken came out with the potatoes and a yorkie and no more than a tablespoon of gravy. We had to ask for more gravy which eventually came out quite a few... More

We were staying in a nearby hotel and tried the Bell for evening meal. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent. There was a good choice of food and the quality was good. It was a Monday evening so fairly quiet. However we returned the following evening as the food had been so good and it was much busier.... More

We stayed for 2 nights here (Innkeeper's Lodge) and had dinner on both evenings. The staff are outstanding - pleasant, helpful and friendly - in the bar and the restaurant. It is a fairly small menu but on both occasions we enjoyed very tasty, well-presented, freshly-prepared food. We would recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.

Surprisingly good and fun restaurant. Food, setting, service all very pleasant...and then the waitress suggested the "Mess". Who knew? Never heard of it before, but we aren't English, so why would we? Try it!! Amazing!! You won't regret it!!

We used to frequent this pub as a nice treat. Somewhere to go for good food at a good price. Yes it started to get tired and needed the revamp. But the menu and prices did not. The menu is too limited for a family with children. It is probably too limited for most adults. The prices are higher, but... More

We live a stones throw from this pub and have visited many times to receive very mixed experiences with both food and service. However last nights visit has ensured we will never spend our money here again. Sadly the food and service from our waitress was on this occasion both great however a group of people sat down on a... I am very surprised at some of the poor ratings for the Bell. A group of us were so impressed with the surroundings, food and service we returned the following night. This is a place for couples, friends or families. I had sea bass and it was amazing. All 5 of my colleagues where completely happy with the food and... More

Lovely old buliding, just been renovated but food has gone downhill, what a pity. We were ignored when we first arrived, we just stood there. We had booked so arrival should not have been a surprise to anyone! Then, the portion size of the mussels starter was disappointing, all sauce, too few mussels plus insufficient bread although more was brought... More
