Nice to see the move upmarket, there are too many standard pub food places in the area, we need a bit of variety. The food is great - I had some delicious sea bass and amazing scallops - and the service was attentive and friendly. The place is big, but divided into lots of rooms so it feels cosy. Well... More

We went here on Sunday for lunch, for my mum's birthday. The Sunday roast's were generally quite nice. The two of us who had the fish and chip's were not impressed. They tasted horrible. The dessert's were ok and starter's were ok. But the fish and chip's were not!

the menu has changed since we last visited - to be honest I preferred the old style. I had salmon tonight . It was - ok - it was fairly bland. A small piece of salmon placed on top of bland shavings of veg and crushed potatoes £12.95. My other half had burger and chips. The burger had a small... More

Visited The Bell on Sunday and food and service terrible. We had roasts and potatoes tasted like they had been cooked and reheated (numerous times!), veg selection poor and all dishes warm and plates cold. Would have complained but there with friends for a special occasion. Very disappointed.

This pub is a bit of a tardis, there are lots of rooms many wooden panelled, and the bar area has low ceilings and looks very rustic. The food was OK - nothing special and I have eaten better at my own local pub. I had pork belly for starters - don't think I had any pork was just fat... More

This is an attractive pub with decent gardens. The interior is also very presentable, and is a series of smaller rooms, though many of these are rather dark and gloomy. Service was rather slow when I visited, especially considering the place was virtually empty, the staff mostly looking very disinterested. The food was OK and had some merit, but my... More

We stopped by for dinner, went for the simple option of fish and chips and mushy peas. Well the fish was undercooked and the mushy peas seemed more carved than mushy. Quite a feat. Not just me though, my wife left some of her scallops as they were undercooked, the guy on the table near us sent his dinner back... More
