Good but not quite there.

Food and menu is very good. Good choice of varied foods, which are well cooked and presented. Nice outside and inside seating areas. Unfortunately the service lets the offering down. Service is inexperienced and too short staffed. Also frustrating that people drinking and not eating are allowed to... read more

Food and menu is very good. Good choice of varied foods, which are well cooked and presented. Nice outside and inside seating areas. Unfortunately the service lets the offering down. Service is inexperienced and too short staffed. Also frustrating that people drinking and not eating are allowed to use outside dining area whilst diners are clearly waiting for a table.... More

Perhaps typical of Vintage Inns uninspired food but in pleasant surroundings.Beer was dire, perhaps lacking cellarman and London Pride at £4.05 a rip off.

Booked a table for a family special occasion. We had to dine later in the evening as the restaurant was full although we were fine with that. Meal and service was absolutely lovely, until the end when we wanted to order dessert. We were informed that the chefs had shut off all the machines and refused to make us dessert.... More

The entrance at the front of the building is not very inviting, in need of TLC, the step is not very high, but it is quite awkward for those of us with mobility problems, a couple of grab rails would be of enormous help, similarly at the ladies toilets, several awkward steps and not a grab rail to be seen!... A lovely looking pub housed in an historic building. Another plus point is the large car park opposite the pub. I met friends for lunch there and we were all impressed by the menu and the food we had was very tasty and portions were generous. We chose items from the fixed price menu and our three courses were very... More

I came here with a large family group, and overall we all had a very pleasant experience. I ordered the fish and chips, and generally very much enjoyed the meal, though it was so filling (and there was something of an overdose with the batter) that I couldn't finish it, and my son had a similar problem with his. The... More

We only popped in here for a coffee, but the staff was attentive, service good and the atmosphere casual. Nearby tables looked to be enjoying generous plates of delicious looking food.

Many years ago The Bell at Aston Clinton, which was family owned, stood out as the best place to eat in this part of Buckinghamshire. Then it was sold, renamed The Duck Inn and the standards fell somewhat. Now, rechristened The Bell, high standards have returned. Visiting for lunch mid week the dining room was very busy. Yet service was prompt,... More

Great range of offers and we managed to try most of them. My personal choice was :- Black Pudding Potato Cake, West Country Burger, and Eton Mess. The portion sizes were spot on.....and the chips were the best I have tasted in a long time [chef showed chip genius]. Service was excellent.
