Poor service 1 took 3 hours, not great when we had 3 small children. Second visit, a table for 2 in the service corridor. After being hit twice by a waitress asked to be moved. Third poor service, today, 5 of us sat in a wind tunnel. Another table complained so not just us. Complained to waiter but as previously... More

We came here to check out whether it was suitable for a birthday party lunch (they said they couldn't do large parties on a Saturday), and had the "landlords lunch. Mine was mushrooms on toast, followed by haddock fish cakes, and then ice cream in a sandwich of cookies. It was pretty decent food, though nothing to write home about.... More

On our way to see Russell Watson concert in Aylesbury and stopped on route at the Bell knowing that it had been recently refurbed for an early evening Dinner. It was like walking into the Tardis as it was a lot bigger on the inside with different areas ranging from a quaint snug room to formal Dining area , chose... More

We had a family dinner there last night, seven of us as two couldn't make it. Everyone had a great meal. Especially good was the Crab and Prawn Cocktail, and the Cenison served au natural rather than with the pear sauce! Arthur was a great waiter, and very humorous! Sunday night was a good choice!

on Friday 13th we went for lunch here. Had had Haddock fish cakes in nearby 5 bells and they were delicious so wanted them again here. They arrived, I eagerly tucked into them.....no taste of fish only potato and some u identified black soft stuff, I asked my husband to try he also could taste the potato. I called the... More

We booked the Bell Inn for my daughter's 18th birthday lunch for 15 guests. The Bell Inn has always been a beautiful building both inside and out and therefore thought the decor and ambience would be ideal for the kind of lunch celebration we were requiring. (Despite the negative reviews). We were not disappointed!!!! We were offered a choice of... More

Popped in for a meal, as the first place we went to was closed due to a private party. Lovely building, clean food areas and friendly staff. The food itself wasn't too bad, a little more pricey than I would normally pay for at other places.

We stayed here for just one night on a B&B basis (complimentary uncooked breakfast included). This was a change from our usual stay at another hotel in this group whilst visiting friends and family. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The building is several hundred years old so you can expect character and creaky floorboards. Our room was spacious,... More

An attractive an interesting building with all sort of nooks and crannies and a history of famous guests in the past. Wood panelling and exposed beams abound and all told it's a very pleasant environment. I can't fault the food here. The poached egg on my black pudding and potato cake starter was perfectly cooked. I had venison for my... More
