Visited The Bell on Sunday and food and service terrible. We had roasts and potatoes tasted like they had been cooked and reheated (numerous times!), veg selection poor and all dishes warm and plates cold. Would have complained but there with friends for a special occasion. Very disappointed.

This pub is a bit of a tardis, there are lots of rooms many wooden panelled, and the bar area has low ceilings and looks very rustic. The food was OK - nothing special and I have eaten better at my own local pub. I had pork belly for starters - don't think I had any pork was just fat... More

This is an attractive pub with decent gardens. The interior is also very presentable, and is a series of smaller rooms, though many of these are rather dark and gloomy. Service was rather slow when I visited, especially considering the place was virtually empty, the staff mostly looking very disinterested. The food was OK and had some merit, but my... More

We stopped by for dinner, went for the simple option of fish and chips and mushy peas. Well the fish was undercooked and the mushy peas seemed more carved than mushy. Quite a feat. Not just me though, my wife left some of her scallops as they were undercooked, the guy on the table near us sent his dinner back... More

Pre-booked for Sunday lunch as they do a 'special' 2 or 3 course lunch with reasonable choices within this at good prices. The food was good and the service friendly in very nice surroundings. Pleasant greeting on arrival and very helpful and cheerful waitress service. Recommended for a straightforward Sunday lunch.

Stayed at this charming pub for one night to attend a local party. The pub is lovely and the room was a good size. However, the bed was uncomfortable. No matress cover just a sheet therefore you could feel the matress buttons through the sheet. The pillows were also flat and hard. The bed was also on the small size.... More

Very disappointed with the meal apart from the pudding Whilst it was a Saturday night and there were a number of relatively large groups the service was very poor. We had pre-ordered our meals but still waited over 30 minutes for them to arrive (may have even been longer). I had Sea Bass fillets which were dry and the skin... More
