An 18th birthday celebration

We booked the Bell Inn for my daughter's 18th birthday lunch for 15 guests. The Bell Inn has always been a beautiful building both inside and out and therefore thought the decor and ambience would be ideal for the kind of lunch celebration we were requiring. (Despite the negative reviews). We... read more

Popped in for a meal, as the first place we went to was closed due to a private party. Lovely building, clean food areas and friendly staff. The food itself wasn't too bad, a little more pricey than I would normally pay for at other places.

We stayed here for just one night on a B&B basis (complimentary uncooked breakfast included). This was a change from our usual stay at another hotel in this group whilst visiting friends and family. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The building is several hundred years old so you can expect character and creaky floorboards. Our room was spacious,... More

An attractive an interesting building with all sort of nooks and crannies and a history of famous guests in the past. Wood panelling and exposed beams abound and all told it's a very pleasant environment. I can't fault the food here. The poached egg on my black pudding and potato cake starter was perfectly cooked. I had venison for my... More

On an overnight trip with work so I stayed at The Bell, greeted on arrival & checked in before being shown to my spacious beautifully decorated bedroom. Had my evening meal in the bar which was lovely & a couple of real ales, service was good. Breakfast next morning was top drawer I had a chorizo hash which was bursting... More

I have lived in Aston Clinton for 18 years and have seen The Bell change management a few times, and change its name from the The Bell to The Duck then back to The Bell. In my experience as a once frequent visitor, it has become the poor option for a lunchtime visit. A few years ago it was run... More

The Bell is the place we take our friends to when they visit. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are very pleasant. When I booked the young lady on the phone was very polite and friendly. The food is good, the desserts excellent, the sharer is a great choice if you want a taste of more than one.... More

We eat here on a Saturday night, staying in the rooms above (see separate review). Meal was for 6 of us - 2 we were meeting for the first time - and couldn't have chosen a better place for first time meeting. The atmosphere was very relaxed - and this was down to the staff. Friendly and nothing too much... More

Had a lovely meal with my family at the end of Jan. Lovely setting, decor, smart staff uniforms. Love the rothschild painting by the door. We weren't greeted when we came in and the place was quite confusing... But once we sat down the service was good, food lovely and all very well presented! Only criticism of the food was... More
