we had been enjoying the late evening sunset and then realised it was time to eat. Arriving at 8.30pm on a Thursday generated that heart sinking moment, when the young man says, the kitchen is closed now.... however within a couple of minutes, we ordered, sat down and were fed the lightest, tastiest beer battered fish you could imagine. Next... More

Four of us visited for an early evening meal and were very impressed. The owner and chef took time to explain the menu and how the fish was cooked (and caught - the fisherman was drinking in the bar). The locally caught fish was beautifully cooked and presented and we were all very impressed with our food. The desert I... More

I couldn't recommend the Griffin highly enough. The food is excellent, especially (naturally) the fish. They know what to do (naturally) with Pembrokeshire potatoes. Homemade cheesecake is delicious. Good Welsh beers (it's a drop-in local as well as a restaurant). The owners and their staff are welcoming and friendly. For hungry/thirsty Coast Path walkers the Griffin is a beacon.

Six of us dined here for lunch one afternoon and all had wonderful food. We all chose locally caught fish which were expertly recommended by the waiter. Couldn't imagine a better meal. We were able to sit on their rooftop decking area so had an amazing view over the harbour. It's a real shame we live so far away, otherwise... More

A short stay in the area and a love of Crab Sandwiches led me to try the Griffin for lunch. Crab Sandwich on Wholemeal bread at £8.95 was expensive compared with two other establishments we also visited. The Crabmeat - a predominantly white meat mixed with brown was sweet and moist, the bread a supermarket thick sliced wholemeal was nothing... More

I stayed in Dale whilst on a photography course with Andy Davies, the owners of the B&B, Broadside, recommended the Griffin as the best place to eat. I went both nights I was there, the staff were very friendly and try to accommodate you with a table if you haven't booked, booking ahead is highly advantageous. The food is superbly... More

You will not be disappointed. a destination for good food. Many fish options but also something for all tastes. Location is quayside, and a new 30 cover restaurant extension is superb. It really is worth the drive down to Dale.

We were exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and stumbled upon this wonderful dining experience. The food was so good we booked to return on the last day of our stay in South Wales. I was impressed by the way the staff coped with large, walk-in parties. The chilli and mojito dressing on the lobster was exquisite, as we're the razor... More

Stick to the fresh local fish and you cannot go wrong. We were staying locally for two nights and went back for both. The razor clams were served beautifully. The Mullet was particularly good. The staff are a delight!
