I came here last year just after the opening and it was great, I am just back again and it is even better all the staff seem to have now settled in, and Susanne has an exceptional understanding of how the client wants to be treated. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is outstanding with an idyllic view of... More

Lived in the Charente maritime for 10 years and must say one of the best meals I have eaten. Recommend the fois gras and filet beef.

We live in this area for a few months of the year and were looking forward to trying this newly refurbished restaurant. My French wife booked a table in the restaurant well in advance but on arrival were told they only had tables in the brasserie and were full! There was no apology or hint of remorse! We found the... Very nice beach location subject only to the adjacent casino which is a bit of an eyesore. The disappointment is the food which is expensive and rather disappointing in terms of quality. All elements are in place except the delivery of something which justifies price and surroundings.

Loved munching right on the beach, the breeze was just right. Plenty of open air seating. The room was attractively decorated for a large family reunion.

Visited "Face a New York" brasserie at la jabotiere, had booked a table in advance and were warmly welcomed and conducted to our table which overlooked the beach, the surf club and the surfers. Had a great meal accompanied by a very good local wine. The best meal I have had in many years of visiting and eating in Royan.... More

So we read Trip Advisor and several other review sites and saw it was a bit of a mixed bag. We turned up on a Saturday night having reserved 30 minutes before, it was packed, but unlike most French restaurants, the tables were spaced apart and although we were two we were given a table for four in a little... We had an excellent lunch from the menu du marche and this was great value. We sat outside on the terrace which id on the sand, you couldn't be nearer the sea, Unfortunately the Casino does block some of the view. More pricy in the evening and a la carte, The staff were charming .Best loos in FRance !

We were recommended this restaurant and told that we would not be disappointed. How right it was! We went for lunch and being a week day we could have the lunchtime menu priced at €21. It was just fabulous. The rillettes of pork and duck with a fruity chutney were delicious and our dos de maigre cooked to perfection. Everything... More

Had lunch with friends one Sunday in October. Three of us had the Menu Degustation - posh name for weekend fixed price - and one ate a la carte. My scallop - yes, there was just 1! - was overcooked and overpowered by its woody mushroom sauce. The monkfish was average but the quail dish was pretty good. My partner... More
