The first time we stayed here already was fabulous (2012) and since then we return here every vacation. The kitchen is small, but the result always delicious. Especially the fish and desert! Le Port is run by a lovely french lady who really is faster than most 20something waiters you will meet! You feel home every time!

We had the best meal of our holiday here, on the last day, before catching a ferry back to Newhaven. We turned up at 3pm and the family who run it were all eating, but we're more than happy to serve us. We had the set 3course lunch and it was faultless. The other half had the home-made terrine to... We found this little restaurant amongst the host of others around the quayside. From the outside it looked full of families and was a free table at the back. We chose it as it looked like a traditional restaurant amongst countless others offering moules frites and we wanted a traditional French "menu" lunch. Madame maybe of advancing years but moved... Return visit after a two year gap, was even better this time around! I had fois gras, which was excellent, followed by the duck with potato, which was absolutely superb, the potato was thin sheets layered, a bit like dauphinoise, but much better! Just the potato on its own would have been very special The dessert was very special, minted... More

I loved this little place, more for the service than the food, but don't get me wrong... The food is great! We walked by, and saw only one other table taken, and hesitated a little... Other places were full of tourists. I think that truly is the key though... This is NOT touristy at all. There were four of us...... More

Recommended by our hotel - so we booked for the evening meal. There were 4 adults and we had a set price menu of such a poor standard that I told our hotel that they should remove it from their list. The mussels were cooked in an insipid raw onion and hot water 'sauce' - the mussels were edible but... More

There are some less good restaurants in Dieppe which the unwary can be enticed into. The Restaurant du Port is certainly not one of them. Recommended by French friends who take their food seriously, it is situated along the attractive Quai Henri IV, a short walk from the large car park facing the ferry. On a beautiful September day we... More

Overlooking Dieppe's harbour. Local food centered on seafood. We went a la carte which is not cheap. Oysters were excelent On the other hand the turbot was overcooked, the sole was Ok. The cheese platter included excellent cheeses but the portions allocated were minuscule The clafoutis dessert was dry and strangely lacking fruit. The old lady running the place is friendly... More

The restaurant gave me the impression that I was eating in the dining room of a family member, friendly and cosy. We had fish (is there anything else in a place at the harbour?). The sea food entree was really good, the main course a bit too creamy for my taste, but that is the typical French style I guess.... More

The food was excellent allthough not very cheap, but the service of the owner was very special. Almost like Hotel California of the Eagles: you can pay but you can't leave. Special tip: try the 14 year old Calvados, it's like heaven!
