A dish recommended by the waitress, it arrived after my aperitif, for me an my 4 yearold, it was perfection, fish , sauce and presintation,I have always had a good meal there, if you can fit in the gourmet coffee its worth it.

Went there for dinner just after they opened, but the food was small, "visual" and forgettable. The service was iffy. Prices way too high. Never went back

We ate there with 5. All we have ordered was very good. The fish was perfect (Cod). The calf kidneys were very tasty. The coquille St. Jaques à point and with a wonderful sauce. The don't serve set meals, only à la carte. Therefore the portions were really big. For desert we ordered café gourmand, hoping for some little sweets.... More

The "La Marmite" at Bistro des Barrieres really is heaven in a bowl! Absolutely delicious seafood dish - a kind of bouillabaisse of the North which uses a cream sauce (a rich Normandy creme fraiche I believe) with generous amount of seafood including monkfish (my fav) and chervil, a highly under used herb in my opinion. Anyway, it was heaven... More

We turned up without a booking and were lucky to get a table as the place is clearly very popular with locals. The food - the menu is written on blackboards - was delicious. Quite large portions and we were certainly full with 2 courses. The are no fixed price menus but one can eat for a very reasonable price... More

Simple and characterful dining room with excellent cooking of local fish and seafood. The Marmite Dieppois seems to be the biggest draw - certainly was for us - but we also enjoyed excellent pate starters and decent freshly prepared dessert. Service ok but they weren't very busy at the time. Might not be the cheapest in town but they certainly... More

I have been fortunate to eat 5 times at this bistro over the past 18 months and agree with all of ther positive comments on trip advisor. It differs from most in having a 3 course lunch menu with no choice although there is a carte also to choose from. My last visit I ate a crab salad and an... More

Recommended by the staff at the Mercure, we arrived around 7pm on a Thursday evening when it was empty. As our ability to read the menu was somewhat lacking one of the staff ably assisted us and between us we selected what turned out to be 3 great 2 course meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant filled up over... More

The restaurant is small, but fills up at lunchtime so book early. Great food with a good chef , the menu changes I think daily with interesting variations on old style cooking. very good service at a reasonable price.

We enjoyed lunch here on a weekday. The place was filled, which probably accounts for the slow and inconsistent service; we never received bread. The food more than made up for the service. I enjoyed cocotte de coquillage and it was excellent. The Sancere we selected was excellent. Try to find a less busy time if you can. It is... More
