Great little restaurant and excellent value for money. Plenty of seafood to chose from and good quick service. Other options not so plentiful...Avoid the beef - very tough to say the least. The Moules et Roquefort were yummy

I was hungry after our beautiful walk from Chemin de Skevell (where we parked near Perros-Guirec) to Ploumanac'h. We came across Le Mao, and decided to try it. I had never had buckwheat galettes, so I chose one of the offerings -- I don't remember which one, but it was vegetarian. It was delicious. We sat outdoors near the back... More

Our third holiday in Ploumanach over a period of 10 years or so. We've returned to the welcoming, relaxed Le Mao on every visit. It's not about haute cuisine. We've enjoyed straightforward French food - Moules/Frites, Steaks, Seafood - offering consistently good value for money. The staff are friendly, efficient and apparently unflappable, even in the busiest periods and our... More

This place is very close to the beach and the décor is rustic but very appealing. However, the pancake menu is very limited and not the most exciting. The outdoor area is OK for kids but mine ended up playing with the gravels and it was pretty hard to keep them sitted on the benches. In our opinion, this place... More

Ploumanac'h is wonderful and "Le Mao" is very good : cosy, cheap and great seafood! I've been there 30 years ago. Had there my first "fruits de mer" and did it all over again. Mmmm...

Amazingly good food for such a big busy place. Great service and lovely welcome for all including kids who seemed well catered for. And really good value for money. Deserves to be as busy as it is and that didn't detract at all from the enjoyment.

Very popular restaurant and very reasonably priced, the food is good and service friendly. Le Mao has a laid back atmosphere and is well worth a visit.

The Brittany coast is stunning, and Ploumanac'h is one of its jewels. The bay would make a film scene for portraying an idyll, particularly on a balmy evening in June. The village at the head of the bay has lots of eating places, all attractive in lovely settings. The one with the greatest "pavement appeal" is Le Mao. It has... More

Beautiful courtyard with tables under the trees, tinkling fountain, ambiance, but very uncomfortable benches. Need to book as always full

We stopped here to regain our energy after a morning exploring the extraordinary rocks around the St. Guiriec beach at Ploumanach. Poulet frites, seemed like a good idea, accompanied by a Kir. And yes, it was the perfect idea. Eating outside under pretty thatched roofs on an almost tropical sunny day, in a cheerful atmosphere with a nice welcome was... More
