The Brittany coast is stunning, and Ploumanac'h is one of its jewels. The bay would make a film scene for portraying an idyll, particularly on a balmy evening in June. The village at the head of the bay has lots of eating places, all attractive in lovely settings. The one with the greatest "pavement appeal" is Le Mao. It has... More

Beautiful courtyard with tables under the trees, tinkling fountain, ambiance, but very uncomfortable benches. Need to book as always full

We stopped here to regain our energy after a morning exploring the extraordinary rocks around the St. Guiriec beach at Ploumanach. Poulet frites, seemed like a good idea, accompanied by a Kir. And yes, it was the perfect idea. Eating outside under pretty thatched roofs on an almost tropical sunny day, in a cheerful atmosphere with a nice welcome was... More

This was the friendliest little restaurant we visited on our trip to Brittany. The staff were helpful, especially as our French is not good and the menu was varied and good.

It looks inviting with its pretty garden, fountain and thatched roofs. We found it to be a tourist trap and were very disappointed. Some of our food was okay, one of us had the daily menu for 9 EU with chicken and said it was decent. I would recommend staying with easy stuff like french fries and sausages or crepes.... More

Le Mao offers very fresh seafood at very, very moderate prices. Great bulots, moules etc. It is a very crowded place and you shouldn't expect a perfect service, however the waitress was very friendly in spite of the obvious stress she faced waiting so many tables. Le Mao is an absolut perfect place for a nice dinner in a casual... More

we had a set menu, we enjoyed our selections but one of our party said the steak was tough and gristly. I had a sea-food selection which was fresh and the little one loved the moules avec frites. The deserts were tasty, they also do a lot of galettes and crepes which are yummy. I asked our waiter and he... More

Good atmosphere and service, trees, varied sitting areas. Wide choice on the menu, good price/quality, simply nice holiday spot.
