Burger surprise!

I thought I'd revisit this restaurant for a romantic birthday lunch, after several years away. The ambience, service, and of course the food, was second to none. My venison burger wasn't on the menu today, but was replaced by an awesome lamb burger. This place has a lovely feel and you are made to... read more

We stopped quiete by chance for a late lunch in this delightful place, after having almost lost hope for a decent lunch having escaped from an awful pub just 30min before! The staff was very helpful and allowed us to have a meal despite our late arrival. We tried the venison burger and the pork belly roast which were very... More

8 of us with varied orders from a good menu all enjoyed our meals in pleasant surroundings with efficient, pleasant staff, having enjoyed good beer before that from a good selection. Maybe a little expensive, but that did not detract from a good experience. We would certainly return.

Great menu, lovely atmosphere, and very tasty food. The fish was especially good. Service friendly and efficient. Slightly overpriced but worth it and we would return.

Did not meet our expectations as a country pub.... Very expensive £4.50 for half a small pork pie and not even with salad garnish. Not overly welcoming and not ideal for a stop off on a country walk. As they say 'Dick Turpin wore a mask'

It was a very good meal and a very nice spot, I don't like meat very much so i choose fish which was divine, also i wanted to try beer and they have a wide variety , the service is very good i really don't know if it was the owner taking our request or not but it was superb... More

My husband and I had a lovely evening at the Oxford Arms. The food was delicious (especially the triple cooked chips - yum!) and the service friendly and polite. Cosy and inviting on a particularly cold and rainy night.

Met some old friends at this pub as it was half way for us all to travel...we were pleasantly surprised!! The pub is gorgeous and welcoming....log burner, candle lit tables and really friendly bar staff. We were given a very warm welcome and sat for nearly an hour waiting for our friends. Menu is great...lovely seasonal dishes and all home... More

We understand that the pub has been in the same ownership for twelve years, and has obviously built up and maintained an excellent reputation.. Enjoyable.

Eat here as part of a birthday celebration. Main waitress was a credit to the place. Great recommendation on both food and wine. The quality of the food was great at a reasonable price. We were too full to have dessert. Fingers crossed we get a chance to come back again later in the year.
