Great pub, great food, open fires and dogs welcome.

This is more a pub with great food than a gastropub, but don't let that deter you. The food is tasty and the setting unpretentious. Kirtlington is a sweet village in North Oxfordshire with lovely nearby walks, and this is a lovely place to break or end your meanders.

We discovered the Oxford Arms by chance whilst we were returning home from an appointment and even though it was about 8.30pm on a January evening we were still able to order food. The pub seems to be everything that you could want from a village pub, nice décor, excellent customer service from the gentlemen behind the bar, and then... More

Popped into the Oxford Arms yesterday. This place has always been a great favourite of ours but hadn't been for a while. Very pleasant welcome and great food. The stilton and broccoli tart recommended as a starter and as ever the Venison burger right up to scratch. My wife had the Longhorn cheeseburger which was beautifully cooked. Not too pricey... More

Went New Years night very busy but once again excellent food & friendly staff. I had a delicious lemon risotto with sea bass my wife had pasta & chicken as always 1st class. As a villager I confess a bias but we went for a lunch here before deciding to move here & this place was the clincher

1.30 on the coldest Saturday day of the year so far and warmly welcomed by the staff and a log fire. My fish cakes were delicious and my wife's fish and chips were the beat she had tasted in a long while. Our American guest was most complementary about her ham, egg and chips. We ate in the bar at... We ate here on a Friday night, thinking the Oxford would be busy but sadly it wasn't, maybe the cold weather was keeping people away? The cold extended to the interior of the pub as the fire hadn't been lit so we had to keep our coats on for a while. The choice of real ales was a little disappointing,... More

We enjoyed a delicious meal with roasted cod with chorizo and baked new potatoes, pork chop on apple mash and redcurrant jus - really lovely. However, we had ordered cod and pheasant! The dishes were hot and very enjoyable, but the service was a little slow (we waited forty minutes for our main course) which was perhaps a result of... More
