Never been here before, but found it on line, read the reviews here, so thought it was worth a go. Not disappointed in fact will go back, as there was more on the menu I would like to try. They are passionate about their food, you can tell when they explain what's on the menu.

Trust me you need to book at lunch time. They offer a walkers menu for £10-15 for three courses and it is fabulous food, presented beautifully by courteous and efficient staff. Price is exceptional for what is offered. Definitely one to visit.

First time at the mariners, and we will be returning! Great service and great food.this was a family birthday mid week celebration, and we were lucky to get in. The main menu has a variety of dishes, veg dishes and classic meat plates, but were pleasantly surprised by the amount of fish choices, for both starters and mains. Some of the choices at first glance... More

All the staff were so friendly, great service, they managed to squeeze us in YOU MUST BOOK, dogs were welcome too. The chef was excellent and the whole kitchen team, we decided to eat a mixture of starters, the... More

We visited this pub for a midweek lunch with some friends on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The pub is on the corner of a junction and has a small car park, so finding a place for your vehicle is not easy. However, once inside you are met with a totally unpretentious old fashioned pub with wooden floor... More

It is in the perfect location for a lovely walk, and the food (particularly the 3-course walkers' lunch at £12.95) is tremendous value - and very good. The number of covers is limited, which makes food, fresh, and service, very good, but means you are unlikely to get in if you don't book. Good for meat and fish eaters and... More

We returned here on Thursday 21st for my wife's birthday lunch. There are two, three course set menus on offer called 'Walkers menu's' which are both outstanding value for money, plus an A la carte menu. We ate from the cheapest set menu as we have every other time we've been because we love the quality for the price. The... More

We went to this place on recommendation. It was a Wednesday afternoon but I was lucky I called to book a table as I got the last one! Its spacious and was already full when we arrived. There's a happy ambiance about the place and they serve real ales. We decided on the 3 course set menu for £12-95. I... More

i’ll begin with the reason this only gets a 3 from us. it was the handmade ice cream which swung it away from the four stars. it simply didn’t taste of anything much. we ordered a la carte and from the menu. nearly all the menu dishes were delicious, can’t say the same for the a al carte, my pasta...
