Wow! The Chef is Incredible!

This is a top notch restaurant. The chef is both creative and beyond competent. His food was well seasoned. We had foie gras, curried duck breast, filet mignon, and shrimp salad. It was awesome! I loved every bite. The wine list is vast, so it's easy to find something yummy to drink with your... read more

Definitely best restaurant in the Solvang, Santa Ynez, Los Olives area. Open 5 days a week. Megan is an excellent, friendly waitress. Now, excellent rack of lamb and Hudson Valley foie gras. Unusual delicious caesar salad. Reasonable $15 corkage fee. We always return.

If you are touring the California Central Coast wineries (Santa Ynez valley), stop by the Ballard Inn in Ballard. Housed in a Victorian structure in the middle of this small town, the Inn is beautifully restored. The restaurant inside the Inn (open to all comers) is small and intimate and very comfortable. If the weather permits it, take your meal... More

Santa Ynez for those who have not been there is a small town (less than 5000 population) but in a center of the California Central Coast wine country. As a result there are some very nice restaurants. The Ballard Inn Restaurant is one of the best. It's a little pricey especially for a small town but with great service and... More

I think that I was expecting more because of the newly released AAA Diamond Awards. Our meals were nice but we were seated next to the kitchen swinging doors and it was very disturbing during the whole meal. Our waitress was fine except a bit forgetful over a few things. The server was unable to answer a question about an... More

My husband and I were going to celebrate which entailed drinking wine and we didn't want to drive. We decided to have dinner at the Inn we were staying at and i am glad we did. Our food was deliciously prepared and the service was good. My husband had the duck and it was cooked, seasoned to perfection. I had... More

We come to this area every year between Christmas & New Years to sample the wines and to enjoy good food. This was our first visit to the Ballard Inn and we had a great meal. I had the duck that was perfect and my wife had the black cod (sablefish) which I helped her finish. We brought our own... More

If you're looking for a restaurant with excellent French-Continental inspired food (with a touch of Japanese influence) with a diverse wine list and top notch service, you'll love The Ballard Inn Restaurant. We do. Been eating here for several years. Our experience during the weekend of 11/21-11/22/14 was no exception.

Wonderful setting in an old portion of Northern Santa Barbara county, close to the old town of Los Olivos. This is the center of the Wine industry of Santa Barbara Couny, and as you would suspect they have some great wines to offer - but this review is about their food. I had to ask what certain things were on... More
