Perfection in every way

I got to take my beloved to a romantic Dinner here in the Santa Ynez valley. Our reservations were at 730 and we were promptly seated at a little two top right in front of the cozy fireplace. The room is small and intimate, your next table over is practically part of your own table, but I didn't... read more

Chef Budi Kazali, winner of several local awards as a top chef, provides an extraordinary meal. It's exactly what you would expect in Santa Barbara wine country by a highly respected chef who made the region his home. Located among the vineyard-covered, rolling hills of Santa Ynez Valley, it's a favorite of local winemakers, wine country residents, visitors, and food... More

The Ballard Inn is a fine dining restaurant in the middle the Santa Ynez Valley. The evening we enjoyed dinner the food was very good but short of oustanding. The ambiance of the restaurant is that of a dining room in a large residential mansion. The presentation of the entrees was very good. This fine dining experience comes at a... More

We were looking forward to this dinner as the highlight of our trip. Yikes. Sauces were overly salted. Food delivery was ill timed. Salmon way undercooked, and server avoided us as much as possible. Could the restaurant at this otherwise cozy inn have seen it's best days?

Quaint and charming restaurant with the best food in the area!!! Reservations are a must. Although it's been quite a while since we've been there (prior to the dates listed - these were the only choices), we save going here for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). If you've never been and are planning on being in the area - you'd... More

We've been here twice, on special occasions, and have been pleased both times. It's not a large place, fewer than 15 tables I imagine, it has a feeling of intimacy but you're not hemmed into a small space. Service was competent and polite, the food was good, it's reasonably expensive but a good value. As you might imagine the wine... More

My husband and I love good food, and have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world. We now include this restaurant in this list! We would happily drive the 40 minutes to Ballard/Santa Ynez Valley to taste Chef Budi's food again. It is nothing short of amazing. I had a hamachi, avocado and shiitake mushroom appetizer, and... A large group of friends had dinner at the Ballard Inn Restaurant. The restaurant is small and intimate and we could only be accomodated on the patio with such a large number. It was perfect! The evening couldn't have been better - great food (many had the duck breast and raved about it - I had the fish which was... More

We enjoyed dinner at the Ballard Inn last night. Now I am from San Francisco - so I have high foodie standards, and every bite met or exceed my expectations. It is a lovely setting in the Inn and small and intimate dinning experience. The staff is gracious and accessible. They have the right level of attention with out being... More

We were staying in solvang which is about 10-15 miles away. The restaurants in solvang are ok but nothing to rave about so we decided to give the Ballard inn a try. It is a small restaurant so I would advise making a reservation for dinner. The food and service were both outstanding. Would gladly go again. The restaurant menu... More
