Description: The restaurant is located in the heart of the Apuane Alps,in the main square of Colonnata. Our cuisine is a blend of culinary traditional and innovative and delicious flavors, such as the "ravioli with wild herbs" or "rabbit stuffed with lardo with sliced almonds." We organize buffet, working lunch and we have a lot of proposals for groups. The restaurant has two dining rooms, one indoor (50-seat) and one outdoor gazebo (20-seat) in the main square of marble.

Very good place that I appreciated again coming here with the family during Easter holiday The hospitality is warm and the ambience is special with photos of the marble caves and the human work within this marble tradition. The menu is centered on lardi di Colonnata plus truffle dishes the latter being motivated by the richness of business lunches occurring... More

Relatively close to my home base of Carrara while in Italy, but well worth seeking out if you're anywhere in the area. We've visited at various times of the year; the Lardo, is, of course, fantastic- creamy, perfectly seasoned, so tender that it melts in your mouth and surprisingly light (considering its basically raw pork fat). However, on our previous... More

Nice restaurant in the main square of the village. Good service and nice people although some of our party were well known to them, which helped. Selection of anitpasti were great, especially the Lardo which they get from a "special source", I was told. But it was the best lardo I've tasted. We had a couple of primi course which... More

One of our very favorites, Venanzio combines the divine food, splendid location up above Carrara, wonderful welcoming of Roberto, with partner, Alessio (amazing chef) and Anna, Roberto's wife. We love the choice aperitivi (see pictures), the red house wine...well, we love everything we have ever eaten here. Always we bring friends and, always!, they thank us for introducing us to... More

we drove to here in a dark rainy night from Versilia up to the marble mountains. the trip itself is unique because you drive in narrow roads surrounded of hgh white mountains as it is snow but it is indeed arble. you reach a small village that is Colonnata and in the main marble lined square you find Venanzio. perfect... Colonnato is a neat little town in the mountains next to the Carrara Marble quarries. This restaurant was very enjoyable too. It's a great side trip when in this part of Italy. The food here is traditional local fare with Lardo being featured. It's very good and not expensive.

This is a hidden gem, not really a tourist spot but well known to those in the marble trade who continually visit here. Known as the quarrymans restaurant. Food is italian mountain food so typically heavier than coastal seafood menus however simply supberb. Cost effective - we had 5 courses for about £40 per head. The lamb is exquisite

We enjoyed a great lunch here. The house wine was good, both white and the red. 4 of us ate here and felt that the price was fair. Two orders of spaghetti with bolognese sauce & bread, one order of savory crepes, and a cheese flan with black truffles were enjoyed by our group of 4. Bathrooms were clean too.

Venanzio is a quaint, no frills trattoria (just like the little village itself) with amicable service, a solid menu with good comfort food and local flavor. Highly regarded as the village's/area's best eatery, it's worth a trip just to eat their lardo on a hot piece of bread...and they make/sell their own and they will even vacuum wrap it for... More

The choice of restaurants at Colonnata is bit limited and when one wants pasta, the menu selections with the restaurants are quite similar. Each of the restaurants has also something made with lardo, the local specialty. I made my choice between 4 of the restaurants, all close to each other as the village is small. I made my choice based... More
