Delicious and one of a kind

This would be my first pick of Coral Bay restaurants, and I think we tried them all. The food is yummy, it's right across the street from the Bay, and the owners could not be sweeter. We drank rum drinks on the patio and savored our curries.

This quiet, perfectly placed, cozy, eclectic but homey spot with an amazing view of Coral Bay was a delectable surprise. The service was impeccable - and with an easy smile! The food had a depth of flavor that we weren't expecting, but simply adored and completely appreciated. The ceviche was so tender and bright. The curries were flavorful and rich,... More

This was a wonderful little seaside gem we visited in the heart of Coral Bay. We sat outside in the patio area and enjoyed a gentle breeze as we started our visit with delicious cocktails. The Painkiller was the best I had tasted on the island. The list of rum offerings is extensive - there is something for everyone. We... More

We made a last minute reservation and she seated us at the best table in the house! The view of the bay was spectacular. The service was impecable, the food excellent and the rum flights were tasty and educational....

This place serves excellent food. We started with jerk chicken wings layered with a rich jerk seasoning which delivered the heat. Ceviche of the day was tuna, flavored delicious. Had the fish special entree, a pan seared red snapper in a scrumptious brown butter sauce, with capers. My daughter ate the red curry shrimp, which she throughly enjoyed. The little... More

This unassuming place has a great vibe, there is an outdoor patio but the interior is the place to sit. Ocean breezes waft in the open windows and the low lighting and beautiful; bar & funky music set the tone for a sultry romantic place. We ate there with our teens two nights of our vacation. It is a very... More

Was a first timer at Sweet Plantains last week and it was great. Attentive service was matched by great entrees. The kitchen prepared the curried goat that I had in a special request for and it was one of the best I've had. The atmosphere is definitely not Carib, but the food sure is. The rum is a bit pricey... My family and I have been going to St John for eight years. The first year we stayed on the Coral Bay side of the island and discovered Sweet Plantains and fell in love with the food, the atmosphere, and the owners. Our son, who just turned nine, wants to eat there at least twice during the week we spend... More

Went there with my family for dinner and had a marvelous meal. Small menu bursting with unique flavors unlike any place we've been on the island. Worth the ride to coral bay.

Sweet Plantains is a great little place with very good local inspired dishes with an international flair. Don't miss the catch of the day and curry prep. Very, very good. Cocktails are really well done.
