Glad it's so close to home!

Recently moved to the area and have been for a couple of meals, both of which were superb meals. On both visits we've been greeted with a warm welcome. The service is attentive, and they a plentiful drinks selection, including some local ales. I always manage to find room to have a main and... read more

We visited The Six Bells on a Saturday night in a small group, looking for something new during "Dry January". The pub/restaurant has a homely feel with an interesting mix of wall decorations, from Africa to Asia. The menu includes British pub classics, as well as some Asian influences. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the service and the surroundings, especially the... More

We joined friends for a double birthday dinner,in the restaurant which my husband and I have been to on other occasions. Even though I could only eat very small portions ( due to a medical condition), the food and service was still at a standard we have been accustomed to. It was truly excellent and we were sad to leave.... More

Met some old friends by their suggestion. Excellent staff attention....we had a variety of food from stir fry ,tempura prawns, sausages, chips...varied to suit all tastes. 3 beers on hand pump and a cider (keg). Coffee reasonable at £.2.20 . Recommended if you like an uncrowded better venue.

The food in this establishment is probably the best pub food in Berkshire. I freely admit the ambience within the pub was almost non existent on a Tuesday afternoon, with the young bartender advising me that their nosy day was a Wednesday !. However, the food more than made up for the lack of atmosphere and I was more than... More

We were a party of eight, celebrating my wife's birthday. A great welcome from Glynis, a bottle of Prosecco at the bar, then a superb dinner. We all had something different, and everyone praised the quality of the food. I had tempura prawns, delicious, followed by the best liver I've had for years. Service was excellent, as was the ambience,... More

The Six Bells has no pretense of Fine Dining, but the quality of the food on a typical Village Pub menu is the best my wife and I have ever tasted. The Soup of the day was a large helping, with warm bread, hot soup and a great taste, The crispy veg stir fry was delicious and the beer battered... More
