Set in the middle of the village a quaint but quirky pub, a good menu covering all basics but with a twist. Often seasonal specials such as Lobster week, and pies to die for Only thing lacking was a little atmosphere

Booked for a family meal as my in-laws were up from Devon. Great food and made to feel very welcome. Definitely will be visiting again as it is only a short trip from our new home. Think that I shall be joining their pie and pudding club.

Great atmosphere and superbly cooked local food, all home made. A real find! Go here after visiting the Wolf Conservation Trust down the road.

Three friends and I turned up on the off chance to have a meal on Monday evening. It wasn't very busy but we were given a warm welcome by the barmaid/waitress. The open fires were lovely and I liked the big sofas and enjoyed looking at all the artifacts on the walls. We chose the Lamb from the extensive menu.... More

Friday night, had not booked and the look of panic on the landladies face as we ask for a table was a picture. They had a 'jazz night' and were not sure that they could fit us in but fit us in they did (I only counted 3 tables enjoying the music) The meal itself was a fairly uneventful affair.... More

Visited here with friends and it was well worth the journey(weather was awful). The food choices were great even for my husband who doesn't eat meat. Portions were good and good value for money. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend a visit to this establishment.

I had Sunday lunch with two friends. We ate in the bar and i particularly enjoyed the range of local ales on offer. Two of us had the beef pie which was exceptionally good - a generous slice from a large pie with excellent short-crust pastry served with finely sliced potatoes lightly sauteed with onions, and a selection of vegetables....
