We went the 5 of us for a lunch by the beach. Really beautiful setting, food was good (once it arrived); you get the best olives in town as a biting, we asked for more (even with payment) but no chance, we almost begged but it was simply ignored several times. The restaurant announces already in the menu that it... More

What more could you ask for? A beautiful location on the white powder beach, wonderful, truly fantastic seafood and just the most relaxed and laid back ambiance you could ever hope to find. I really think that for most people a long, lazy afternoon here would be a holiday highlight. If you are in Mombasa, Mtwapa is not far and... More

Savia and I have lived in Vipingo Beach on and off since 2005. We had never been to the Jumba Ruins site in Mtwapa and didn't know about the Monsoons Restaurant. How we have missed out. We went there yesterday for lunch and can say it was first class. A menu to die for, if you are a sea food... More

Seafood really does not get better than this. As freash as possible, small menu but good choice and expertly prepared. Ginger crab is a must. The flavours reflect the owners cultures - swahili and Italian. I used to think that Tamarind was the best, but this little places out paces Tamarind!

My husband and I discovered Monsoon on TripAdvisor and knew that it would be the perfect place to grab lunch with our family while driving up the coast from Mombasa. We were drawn in by the pictures and were convinced after reading the reviews. I can confidently say that this place exceeded all of our expectations (and our expectations were... More

Nothing has changed - thank goodness. The standard is still extremely high. Nothing is too much trouble. The food as always is superb. The owners can do no wrong - they simply excel at what they do. Go and enjoy.

Back again after sometime, we really enjoyed Monsoons, exquisite giant crabs and lobsters, delicious seafood platter and calamari, the ambience was warm, nice patrons and we got the chance of meeting very interesting people and some dear old friends. Monsoons today looks better than ever been, and the simplicity of the restaurant right by the sea its friendly management and... More
