I booked for a friend and I to have the Al Fresco Lunch at River Cottage and we both really loved the experience. We were picked up from the car park on the tractor and driven down to River Cottage. We had a selection of canapes to start and and a nice drink. I was not able to have the... More

Tonight I had one of the best meals I could ever imagine. For £70 per person I was given generous portions of excellent food. As a teenager you could probably presume that I would be a picky eater but food that I would normally dislike was prepared in such a wonderful way that there was nothing I didn't enjoy. The... More

Brilliant! I loved walking around the herb garden, veggie garden and the food was amazing! No complaints. Staff attentive and welcoming and the ambience just perfect.

The evening started off with a ride down the steep track to the farm house, were you are greeted, and shown into a tented area, you are given a glass of apple aperitif, and some nibbles, with a brief introduction as to what the River Cottage ethos is about. you have no idea as to what the menu will be,... Fabulous day with John learning all sorts about brewing beer, making infusions. However learning about John's exploits past and present was priceless. Great person and could have listened to him all week.

River Cottage HQ is so good in so many ways - but could be even better. We recently had dinner there - a special event featuring Professor Marcus du Sautoy chatting enthusiastically about Maths. We arrived in good time and waited for the tractor/trailer combo to take us down the steep and roughly pitted track from the car park to... More

You really feel as if nothing is too much bother and that you are a valued guest. From the journey from the car park - via tractor - to the way that you are allowed to roam around and chat to the chefs, and nosey at the gardens, it was all delightful. My partner booked this for me as a... More

The whole evening was a delight from the trip down to the HQ on the trailer to the last mouthful of food. One of the courses was a take on a 'pot noodle', it was very delicious! The music was good and the atmosphere even better.

Visited for the evening meal as an anniversary occasion, had a look around the farm before the meal. Scratched the piggies backs and marvelled at the slug free veg. Long tables in the dining barn, we got on famously with our neighbours. Great food, numerous canapes (bunny burgers fantastic) and an explaination of each course. It is not an in... More
