Cricket trials

Our son was at cricket trials in Stroud so we were looking for somewhere to kill some time and have a light bite. The views are gorgeous and the food was lovely. Staff were all very friendly

Had lovely dinner with excellent desert - sticky fingers pudding..mjammm! Very friendly atmosphere. We stayed in Amberley for 10 days in a lovely cottage. The Black Horse was within walking distance. Everytime we passed it , it was crowded both during lunchtime and at evenings. We sat in the glas part overlooking the beautiful valley. A real gem , warmly... More

Visited here for a birthday dinner on a Cotswolds visit. The waitress was a little stresful as she seemed to be working a bit short-handed and exasperated, but once business slowed down she was friendly and personable for our meal. Had an excellent hummus platter to start; the sundried tomato version was the table favorite. Fish and chips

Visited on a weekday evening for drinks but we were tempted by the menu. Had a risotto and have to say it was delicious! The staff member who served us was very attentive and lovely. Great views too.

2nd visit tonight since new management and enjoyed food and received good service both times. Location really sells this pub in the summer but parking can be tricky.

Popped in for a nice Sunday roast on a lovely sunny afternoon. The staff were very accommodating to our needs. The portions were a decent size and for a 3 course Sunday roast, ~£16 is good value. Food came out promptly and tasted great, very surprised seeing as it was so busy. All in all a lovely experience and we... More

Visited the black horse last Saturday, lovely menu which is reasonably priced (around £10 -£12 for a main). Very efficient and friendly service. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars is because they don't sell thatchers gold! We will be back though :)

Called in on Saturday as part of a cycle ride to enjoy a famous Black Horse burger; staff are super friendly and welcoming, food is great quality and at last this amazing venue has a Team that cares enough to make it as bright and sparkly as the view from the garden
