Middle Ruddings was within walking distance of our B & B and was recommended to us. The first night, we were able to get a table in the conservatory, which was lovely, but the bar area didn't look as nice. As a result, we didn't go another night when there was no space in the conservatory. Food was nicely cooked... More

A busy, cozy establishment with an excellent Variety of dishes, and service that was "just right." Excellent chicken dishes ,with red cabbage. We ate there 3 times in four days.

We ate here the first of our nights in the Lake District. We were greeted in a strange manner by the landlord and the waiting staff were....a bit odd. I'm writing this some 10 days after our visit and to be honest I'm struggling to remember the food: I know all four of us thought it OK but nothing more.... More

We had our annual Braithwaite holiday.. Booked ate in dining room nicely laid out. Meal was all right, but lacking service, staff to busy re setting tables for breakfast. No buzz as in the local inns.

As we were staying close by, our hosts recommended this restaurant. We booked a table, but there were several empty, so was not necessary that particular night. Service was good, atmosphere was lacking, and some musak in the background may have helped. We ordered the duck and rump steak...generous portions and cooked as we ordered, no complaints!

My partner and I ate here last week - both had the slow roast lamb. The lamb was good and the portion, generous. Service was ok. I then had the dessert of the week - Sticky toffee ice cream sunday. Very disappointing - tasted like yesterday's sticky toffee pudding mixed with ice cream, topped with cream and toffee sauce -... More

Stayed nearby and ate here both evenings, meals were very good, good choice, very friendly staff, and good service. Would advise booking if a bank holiday weekend as it was very busy.

Visited on a Monday evening (29/4) having booked a table earlier in the day and told that the fish and chops were excellent. Unfortunately due to enthusiastic diners there was none left. However we had the vege Stumpine Pie which was served with coleslaw, mixed salad and chips. This was excellent and good value, although the starter of melon and... More

We came here for a quick meal after arriving into the area for a few nights. The reviews on here made us keen to try it and it did not disappoint. Good quality pub food that was both reasonably priced and prompt.
