Sunday dinner

We had a fish soup with aioli, nice bread. The staf was friendly, no problem when we wanted some more aioli. The wine and dessert was good as well.

Our impression is that Bolaget is run for locals and discourages visitors. We had our hotel reserve a table for dinner and were shown to a table where we waited about 15 minutes for any service (water, menu, any waitress). Halfway through our visit another couple was seated closer to us than either of us was comfortable with. The atmosphere... More

During a short visit of 4 days to Visby, I was so taken with Bolaget that my host and I ended up spending 3 of the 4 days/evenings at Bolaget. I spoke no Swedish, yet found the owners and staff to be very warm and hospitable. I was comfortable immediately. The view of the square at Stora Torget from Bolaget's... More

I have got both good and bad experiences here. Service is not what it should be. Food up and down. But nice afterwork in the afternoons - when the weather is good it is crowded out on the veranda. Good for drinks, but go somewhere else for food.

Thank you for taking time to write a Review. I am sorry we didn't meet your expectations regarding service. We will never offer a fine-dining, posh dinner experience. Other restaurants do that much better. What we try to offer is good bistro style food in a laid back setting with personality and a smile. Hope to see you again. JS More

We came to Visby at the end of September after having spent a weekend on Fårö experiencing the life and legacy of the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman who lived on the island for the last 40 years of his life. Visby was almost empty. The tourists who fill the cobblestoned, narrow streets of this impressive city - the oldest parts... More

Really great cooking. Very limited menu of 4 starters and mains but means everything is fresh and lovingly cooked. Great choice of wine too and charming maître d'/owner. Delicious fish and meat (eAt there 3 nights as food was so good!). Great wine list, charming service, really good fresh well cooked and presented food. As we were in Visby for... More

Start with a drink in the bar - bartender with magic hands! Best Bloody Mary in the last ten years. Try to get a table outside. Enjoy the sig sight of pedestrians in the Great Marketplace. Food and service an extra plus! Prices not a chock.

Dinner place for the last night in Visby. Our son started to be a bit too tired for a dinner and we decided to go only for main course. We all ordered stakes and they were well prepared and nothing to complain - nothing special though. Good and quick service and nice atmosphere.

The restaurant had a lot of local products. I had asparagus and pig bred on the island. I also tried beef fillet which was excellent and very well cooked. The staff was excellent. Very welcoming, nice and professional

Great location, french inspired food with local ingredients. Romantic atmosphere and a nice place for a drink or a full dinner.
