This small local restaurant prepared one of the best meals on Gotland. Cozy with limited tables means try to call ahead if you can. Specializes in fish and seafood with true gourmet presentation but with good portions. Serves their oysters on frozen rocks!

I've been at Bakfickan many times, but when I re-visited the place for a dinner Monday evening in late August 2014 it was some five years since last time. I remembered the nice atmosphere and good food and was looking forward to take my dearest there now. We had booked a table. However, the place did present us sheer disappointment.... More

Compared to the last time I visited Visby and ate at Bakfickan, the popularity of this restaurant at Stor Torget has apparently boomed. The food is just as good as it was when I was here a few years ago, but there's a restaurant that can give these guys a run for their money across the street from where I... More

Small relaxed restaurant with a limited choice (about4 starters, 4 mains) and that's usually a sign of a good restaurant. it certainly was in this case. All the food was fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. We eat mainly fish which was delicious and served charmingly with good wines. The food was so good we went back twice! Even though... This is a charming small restaurant that doesn't look like much but don't be too hasty to judge the book by its cover - the food is amazing and the staff is professional and friendly. We tried the neck of cod and the smoked shrimps with dewberry lemonade, a combo we warmly recommend, took us right to childhood.

We had a simple meal here while visiting Visby one day. The ambiance is nothing special, but we enjoyed the food. Loved the homemade crisp bread.

Nice small scale fish and seafood restaurant on the main square. We had "bakad fjärsing" and fish soups as mains. Very delicious

This is not a fancy place, and 90% of the menu is fish, but the food is good. If you want a traditional Swedish fishman's meal, this is a good place to go, for lunch. They have homemade hard bread that is very good.

The restaurant could be good but the portions are small. the fish was okey but the clams was boring with little taste in. The temporary menu feels better then the regular menu,.

Had lunch here yesterday and it was very pleasant. Sat outside watching people wander passed and I enjoyed a great seafood stew. Up until yesterday they offered only two choices of lunch dishes -great idea because they can concentrate on flavour of those - but now lunch time it is ala carte. I was a bit shocked at the price...
