Nice place in nice surroundings

We spent late summer weekend at Visby in marvelous sunny weather. We had three evening meals close to Stora Torget. Here we were served fried fish and fishsoup to our satisfaction, Very dilicious. Service was correct and professional.

Small, cosy and personal. This restaurant is housed in an old fish monger shop and you can still to this day see the tiled walls and the fish and shellfish displayed on ice. If you don't want to eat there you can by the produce you like and bring them home to cook them yourselves. I do however recommend to... More

If you like seafood, this is the place to try out when you're visiting Visby. When we arrived, we had to wait a little while to get seated and were a bit bothered when we got seated right next to the entrance. But the atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food made us forget it fast. Be aware that it's a... More

Two families arriving in the middle of medeltidsveckan with 3 extremely excited and hungry children. The serving staff were excellent and each and every dish we ordered, evenvthe kids menu, was fantastic. In addition, the (relatively small) selection of beers are all excellent. Well worth a visit.

Very pleasant and all the food was very good. The fish soup, although good, is very small for the price and for being a main course.

You may have to line up for awhile if you want an outdoor seating, but it will be worth it. This place is popular for a good reason, and everyone in our party of four praised their dishes. I enjoyed a herring dish in creamy white sauce (sillröra) as an appetizer, and moved on to crispy fried herring (strömming) with... More

Since the reviews on TripAdvisor were so good, I really wanted to give this place a go, and felt very luck to have managed to get a table outside without booking. The sign outside asked people to wait to be seated but when I arrived there didn't appear to be anyone to check who was waiting so I went in... More

What's not to like about Bakfickan? Service is great, prices are great and the food is amazing. The Fried Baltic herring with spring onion butter & mashed potatoes is to die for! It was THE best meal I had during my visit to Visby. The Smoked shrimps with aioli & toast is also very good and not to be missed... More

This place was so good we ate there three times during the week we were staying in Visby. Food was consistently great, and the service was cheerful and fun. Be sure to make a booking, though, to avoid being disappointed; it's a small restaurant that is very popular with both locals and tourists.
