After a nice long walk we came across this beautiful pub! Surroundings are stunning right next to the river and the ales and food really hit the spot. A really nice atmosphere and the staff and locals very friendly indeed. Will definitely be going back for longer next time. Highly recommended! :)

When glamping around the corner during the week(Tuesday)kids directed us to this pub. Lovely setting and lovely pub we arrived around midday to find it with one other family/friends having a meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. We order our meal 2 starters 2 main courses and two kids meals and one spare plate for our little one all... More

We've visited this pub on several occasions and always found the welcome friendly, the girls behind the bar (Sharna, Alice and Shona) were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food has never disappointed and is of a consistently high standard, the young girl who bought us our food (Amy) was again professional and made sure we were happy.... More

We have eaten here many times and Neil has even cooked special meals just for us on a few occasions. The food is always excellent regardless if it is just a sandwich, an evening meal, or one of their wonderful Sunday roasts! We would recommend the Man of Kent to everyone - and we have!

If youve ever been to the area you probably know this pub by its lovely location by the River, with outdoor seating alongside. The location sells the pub, and it's really busy in summer particularly at weekends. Out of season or on colder days, I'm afraid the pub is average, as it can't rely solely on its location and has... This pub has very low ceilings so beware! We had lunch here. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The floors are bare because of the flooding last winter. The dining tables did not have any table cloths on them and were quite basic. The food was average pub food but perfectly edible. The chips with our main meal were... More

We went here for lunch on the off chance and it was really good. The barmaid was friendly, we ordered our food, I wasn't really all that hungry so just had a prawn baguette & when it came out it was massive, and it came with salad, crisps & coleslaw. I still managed to eat it all of course! The... More

Visited to drink rather than eat! Three real ales on - including very well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Nice old village local with VERY low ceiling and basic furnishings. Recovered well after winter floods - which are due to its lovely setting alongside the River Bourne. A large paved patio with several tables looks over the river and its attendant... More

We went for a light lunch on a hot, sunny May afternoon. The setting is very nice. Next to the river, where fish of all shapes and sizes swim by. The staff were very friendly. We had sandwiches. I choose a salad sandwich which was very basic. It came with a handful of crisps. The sandwich was absolutely swimming in... More

As one of a group of ten we booked a table for Sunday lunch yesterday and we were sat in a room which had been flooded a few weeks previously but is now back in use. The owner regaled us with stories of that period including showing us pictures in the Village magazine; a remarkable recovery helped by neighbours and... More
