If youve ever been to the area you probably know this pub by its lovely location by the River, with outdoor seating alongside. The location sells the pub, and it's really busy in summer particularly at weekends. Out of season or on colder days, I'm afraid the pub is average, as it can't rely solely on its location and has... This pub has very low ceilings so beware! We had lunch here. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The floors are bare because of the flooding last winter. The dining tables did not have any table cloths on them and were quite basic. The food was average pub food but perfectly edible. The chips with our main meal were... More

We went here for lunch on the off chance and it was really good. The barmaid was friendly, we ordered our food, I wasn't really all that hungry so just had a prawn baguette & when it came out it was massive, and it came with salad, crisps & coleslaw. I still managed to eat it all of course! The... More

Visited to drink rather than eat! Three real ales on - including very well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Nice old village local with VERY low ceiling and basic furnishings. Recovered well after winter floods - which are due to its lovely setting alongside the River Bourne. A large paved patio with several tables looks over the river and its attendant... More

We went for a light lunch on a hot, sunny May afternoon. The setting is very nice. Next to the river, where fish of all shapes and sizes swim by. The staff were very friendly. We had sandwiches. I choose a salad sandwich which was very basic. It came with a handful of crisps. The sandwich was absolutely swimming in... More

As one of a group of ten we booked a table for Sunday lunch yesterday and we were sat in a room which had been flooded a few weeks previously but is now back in use. The owner regaled us with stories of that period including showing us pictures in the Village magazine; a remarkable recovery helped by neighbours and... More

Have visited this lovely pub on several occasions for a drink but decided to try a Sunday Roast on the last visit. Wish had done this before because the meal was outstanding - excellent beef which melted in the mouth and vegetables cooked to perfection. Could not fault the meal and just wish I had enough appetite to try the... More

Wet rainy Saturday so needed a local pub to have a family lunch. This pub has a great 16th Century exterior, pretty garden and fish (can buy food if you want to feed them). Our party of 6 chose from the main menu and children's menu. Kids liked the homemade chicken strips and yummy chips - doubled up for adult... More

Great pub with friendly service and atmosphere. Food isn't posh but it's good and the children loved feeding the fish in the river in the garden.

Came here on a lovely sunny evening and sat outside by the river, as I have done several times. Decided to eat. Thought the menu was a bit expensive, think they may have changed the menu recently? but went ahead. The Brie starter was ok, not exciting, and sadly the bit of lettuce accompanying it was limp, and brown - the... More
