We had a warm welcome for Sunday lunch here and tested both the seafood and the traditional Sunday roast, both of which were excellent. Portion sizes were also very generous and I was pleased to see Shipyard Ale on offer, made in my home town of Portland, Maine (sister town of Portland, England?).

We popped up the new inn to meet friends for a meal on Saturday night and luckily managed to pre-book a table at very short notice. The Pub has a very cosy relaxed feel to it complimented further by the very friendly landlord and staff. On arrival we were a little early so had time for a couple drinks before... More

We called into the new inn for dinner on a long weekend and were recommended the Cornish rock oysters by the waiter. We chose them for our starter and can honestly say they were the biggest, tastiest oysters we have ever had. We then had a Goan curry made from prawns and local crab, which was a nice twist on... Welcoming bar/restaurant with good value, quality food. Not your usual prepacked burger and chips that you often get at bistro bars, but freshly cooked and innovative. Nice beers and friendly service. Would definitely visit again if in area.

Locally sourced lobster and beautiful crab, locally sourced ingredients make this place one of our favourite spots - even though it is a two hour drive - read our review of the rooms! See you soon all our... More

Good place for something a bit different, especially on Portland. Good menu but quite pricey. Nice for a special occasion.

We arrived late on a rainy night, and were given at warm welcome -- the stove was fired up in our honour. The food was really excellent: plump & sweet scallops to start, with Spanish black pudding, and a tasty pork pie with chorizo (there's a Spanish twist to quite a few dishes). We both had moules for our main... More

Superb food, superb service, this is the best place to eat and drink on Portland. A great selection of real ales, great quality spirits and the food is always top class. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. We love the new inn and would highly recommend it to everyone.
