Just returned from a week on Portland. We happily found this gem just down the road. Ate here twice, once for dinner and once for Sunday lunch, both times the food was great, the service good and the portions generous. The Luxury Sea Food Platter of Lobster, Crab, Scallops etc was memorable but sadly left no room for dessert. The... More

We came down for the Weymouth Sea Food festival (great fun) but to be honest the food in the New Inn was superb. I had the best Bass and Sole I have ever has, cooked to perfection and my fiancée had a magnificent sea food platter base around the lobster that Spencer greeted us with on arrival. Superb, thanks. Great choice, even better food... The sea food we had was some of the best I have tasted, so impressed we booked for the next night too. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, the chefs should be very proud of their great menu and food.. After the meal we sat in the bar area and enjoyed a lovely... More

The food was fabulous, a real surprise. I would recommend the seafood platter, the scallop salad and fish and chips the kids had were great. All very reasonably priced. Please, do yourself a favour and give them a go, it was the best meal we've had all week

Had an amazing dinner this evening. The fresh fish was to die for, absolutely lovely, We waited half an hour after our main course plates were removed before finding the sweet menu ourselves and then another half an hour later when the waiter didn't bother to come to our table, we decided that the moment had passed and we'd have... We were staying at The Heights Hotel and were told that at 21:03 they were no longer serving food, on their recommendation we tried the New Inn. On arrival at 21:20 they said the kitchen was closed, but would be able to offer us simple dishes.. We ordered the burger meal, and a ham egg and chips. Both meals were... More
