This restaurant has a lot going for it. The location is leafy and quiet. The staff are friendly but not over-bearing. The food can be quite good. It is very clean and tidy. And you can have a pleasant conversation without the boom of other people's chatter. But it is a bit stuck in an earlier era of Indian restaurants.... More

Absolutely delicious food at very cheap prices. Very friendly service always feel very welcoming. Been several times now and never disappoints. As a side note, the completely negative reviews are clearly from competitors, especially the person who said there is no parking, as there is loads of parking just outside the restaurant!

Good service, friendly staff and lovely food. Décor OK but a little bland but for the price this could be expected.

Staff are very friendly and food is also very good. I have eaten here many times and also had numerous take-aways and can easily say it is definitely one of the better Indians in the area. I would definitely recommend.

We thought we would try somewhere new and very local as a response to a flyer through the door. So last night picked up a take away (not very easy to park). Upon unveiling the contents of my Chicken jalfrezi i found it very unappealing in a muddy sauce and totally characterless. Unfortunately there was a taste to match, absolutely... More

The manager of this restaurant was extremely rude. The food was below expectations. I was astonished with how the restaurant treats its guests and would not recommend to anyone.

Just moved into the area & wanted to try a new Indian take away. An upmarket area with a big Asian community so was surprised to find the food so bad. Seemed to never heated & not fresh. Threw it away. Walk past every day & usually pretty empty & yet the Chinese a couple of doors up is always... More

Relatively new to the area and ate here for the first time after browsing the positive reviews.. With headings like "Best Indian in the area" and "a must visit restaurant" I had high hopes. Unfortunately, The Shemul in terms of its food did not live up to the hype and I was really disappointed with the food. There were 4... More
