Mountain eating for all the family

Bodmen is a "classical" swiss mountain restaurant serving mountain classics, in a quaint environment. It is accessed by a short walk (20 minutes or so) from the village of Saas-Fee along a well lit path with beautiful views over the Saas valley. Therefore unlike many of the other mountain (as... read more

We discovered the Waldhüs Bodmen while on a winter hike on a snowy Saturday afternoon. Switzerland abounds with charming rustic mountain restaurants, but we agreed that this was the best of its kind that we have encountered in five years in the country. It offered a large menu of Swiss favorites, with emphasis on meat and cheese dishes. Our Walliser... More

Definitely worth the walk (at least an hour back and forth from the village, or take a taxi for CHF 25.- one way), in winter at night it's like a fairy tale to arrive in this rustic yet comfortable chalet... We celebrated a birthday, and loved the cosy atmosphere and good classical food (mostly meat...). Hearty soups served in a... More

Recommend a trip to the Waldhus Bodmen, one of our favourites in Saas Fee. Beautiful terrace at lunchtime, cosy interior at night. V geared up for children with playroom and plenty of animals to look at and play with. Good kids menu. Older children like the Steinplatte, a hot stone on which you cook your meat. Any of the 'Geschnetzeltes'... More

We ate here on two occasions on our recent holiday to Saas Fee. The Rosti was very tasty and we were able to share a portion between us [it was lunchtime]. We were also tempted by the ice cream concoctions - delicious! The view from the terrace on a clear day is beautiful and they are very happy to serve... More

An amazing terrace restaurant in sass fee. Good views and comfortable outdoor seating. The inside seating was also cosy and traditional. The restaurant is an easy and enjoyable 15 minutes walk from the tourist office. A varied menu with pricing similar to other good restaurants in sass fee. It is a kind of an outdoors restaurant and would add to... More

Im probably a little biased as I have lived in this resort for 3 ski seasons and visited many times during the summer. But I just love Bodmin, the walk there is beautiful and the views surrounding the restaurant are breathtaking. Ive never experienced bad food, (the rosti is to die for!) and have always found the service to be... More

This restaurant was a gorgeous find, breath taking views of the Matterhorn, friendly staff, gorgeous mountain food which is just what you need after a day skiing on the beautiful pistes in Saas fee! I would recommend to everyone going to this resort to dine at this restaurant.

We are frequent visitors to Saas Fee and would never visit without taking family and friends for an early meal at Bodmen. We have a seven year old so always go for the 6:30pm sitting. Where other restaurants would be dead at this time, Bodmen is always buzzing and full of atmosphere. We always start with their hibiscus cocktail followed... More

As always, Bodmen didn't disappoint. The romantic walk through the forest to the restaurant is as lovely as ever, and we were greeted by a huge camel underneath the restaurant, which is always nice. The food was delicious, with huge portions, which again is no bad thing, you can always leave what you can't eat. A stand out was the... More
