food-wise, this was the highlight for our stay in Bad Ragaz, and one of the best Swiss (with a taste of French) restaurants I've been to. the escallops were amazing... simply melting in your mouth, the main courses were superb, and the excellent desert 'grandma-style' was something I had never... read more

I had the T-Bone Steak for dinner - out of this world! Everything from the appetizers to the dessert Coupe Nesselrode (Vermicelles mit Vanilleglace) were absolutely divine! This was my fourth time eating at Gasthof Loewen but I'll definitely be back for sure!

This house has a long tradition and the owners are proud of it. The setting is simple, country house-style and so is the menu. The choice of dishes is pretty impressive, from steaks to fish toAsian dishes... The Matjes herring on sour cream-apple sauce was amazing and also the scallops were well prepared. The meat, a venison steak was very... More

An intimate Swiss place with homey furnishings and decor, this place offers great salad, cheese and other Swiss specialties. Great place to meet your friends, or have a special night out. Impeccable service. Great wine list. I dig this place. I want to go back and I wish it weren't so damn far from where I live!

This restaurant has an excellent menu, the food is superb and you can find spicy and not spicy plates. You can eat traditional swiss food and food inspired from the world (Thai for example). Service is very good. Prices are a bit higher than the Swiss medium.

We came to this restuarant as our second choice after 90km on the bikes. The first choice was smelly and rude so we went to the top. It was worth every penny. We started with 1/2 a mushroom between us. This half mushroom was the size two apples and gave a wonderful first course cooked with garlic and butter. The... More

The best chateaubriand ever. It's their specialty and it comes with 4 side dishes and 3 different sauces. The meat is fresh flown in from Ireland and is wonderful, tender and cooked to perfection. The owners are there hands on cooking and serving to the customers simplest requests. Great local wines and a fantastic location by the river with an... More

If it was for the food, I would have reviewed a max of 5 stars...cause it was really excellent! We ordered a Chateaubriand and it was done according to our taste. The meat was delicious and very tender. The wine we ordered was excellent (Red from Thomas Donatsch, from the Region). There were only few details we can put on... More

Beautiful shaded garden in the summer, along the Tamina, and when the weather is less nice inside is inviting, as well. There is a more elegant dining room and another more casual with visibility into the service area, the latter of which is more lively. Both serve the same menu and we prefer the more casual side. It is easy... More
