Recommended by staff at the Hotel romantic Thul, as a place to get good pizza and pasta. Arrived early evening to find the restaurant full of people, a mixture of couples and families. Always a good sign, especially when the place is slightly away form the majority of local establishments. We both ordered pizza's and were delighted when they arrived.... More

Spagetti bolognese was right out of a tin can, at least it tasted like that. No spices at all. No love went in to this food. Had 2 different kind of pizzas, both with so much cheese that it looked disgusting.

After finding this romantic Italian gem in Feb 2010, our river cruise stopped at Cochem in summer, 2014. With only a few hours over lunch and excellent food awaiting us aboard, returning to Castello was number one on our list. We were not disappointed, and it lived up to our memory. The atmosphere is warm, charming, and the same wait... More

Went out for dinner during our first day stay in Cochem and based on reviews we landed in this restaurant.. Food was very nice.. There were 2 italians on our group and they liked it as well.. 9 members in the group and we ate and drunk around 200 euro ;-)

We had a great meal and relaxed experience at this restaurant. The food was superb. We had a lot of wine so we may be a bit biased but we had so much fun. It is off the beaten track- no tourist appeal- which made it even better. Thanks.

Thanks to the recommendation on TripAdvisor, we decided to check out Castello after having a poor experience at a German food restaurant in Cochem. Castello was off the main street, so food prices were reasonable. There was no man at the door trying to lure in tourists (we took that as a good sign). The food was absolutely delicious and... More

A friend and I stopped here for lunch after touring Cochem Castle. We each had excellent meals -- I highly recommend the Gnocci with spinach in cream sauce -- and the prices were reasonable, too (about 8 EUR for pasta dishes and 16 EUR for seafood). The atmosphere was fun (think German cellar with a lot of antiques, drawers in... More

Coming from Fremantle in Western Australia (little Italy) we were craving some good Italian food as a change from schnitzel! Everything about this restaurant was perfect... No hassles to speed up (we had children with us), beautiful fresh food, inexpensive and generous serves. Children's meals a bargain at 3-4euros. We had spinach and ricotta cannelloni, veal with lemon sauce, carpaccio... More

Excellent menu and not expensive. Lovely atmosphere although the staff were a bit 'serious'. Made a pleasant change from the many German grill restaurants in town.
