A truly magical experience!

I booked a meal here on 12th August as a surprise treat for my husband. We were only visiting Cochem for 4 days and I wanted him to have a special meal. My wife and I had steak and chips and a bottle of wine The quality of the food was good but at a price of just over €100 we felt it was overpriced and not good value for money. The waitress suggested a wine and we made the mistake of not checking the cost. €29 for a bottle of pleasant... More

We were lucky enough to be staying at the hotel and there for a special night in the restaurant (usually only open twice a week) as well as one of their regular openings. The food was nothing short of exceptional, Anna served everything beautifully and matched wines based on our taste and the set menu from the kitchen. The chef... More

A wonderful jewel located near the old town plaza of Cochem (Koch him), Germany. Close to the Rhine river, the elegant restaurant is located in the boutique Hotel Lohspeicher. Entering, one sees a romantics red and grey colors and a warm small room. We began with baked bread pieces adorned with a light ham-cheese pâté', olive tepanade, and chili-olive oil.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. The lovely waitress spoke very good English, and was very friendly and helpful. We had the set menu special because we were not very hungry. The bread and Basel infused olive oil was to die for, followed by a delicious cream of mushroom soup, and then the main. E24 a head was... More

We were told by our hotel staff that this was the best restaurant in town, and despite the fact it is the only restaurant I dined at, I would not doubt that statement for even a minute! My husband and I have dined at a lot of great restaurants and this was high on our list of favorites. Presentation was... More

My son and I went for the suggested 5 course menu on offer, which we did not regret. The finest of the finest. Lovely presented and tasted fantastic. The waitress gave us enough time and asked politely when to proceed with the next course. The wine list is impressive and does not only include wine from the Moselle. This place... More

The Hotel was very pleasant though there was no air-con and we were there on the two hottest days of summer 2012 (37C)...which made sleeping somewhat uncomfortable....the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is trying to get a Michelin star...and is probably not far off...we ate off the set menu....but unless you like everything on that menu you will... More

At first we were very happy with this classy restaurant, good food, and good service. As we commented, however, that the avocado was very hard, not ripe at all, the waiter hardly reacted at all. Incredible, that a restaurant with this ambition, serves a completely unripe avocado! We were very willing to forgive them, though, as the rest of the... More

This little gem is the place to dine if you enjoy typical German fare. It is hidden away just off the Marktplatz, up a flight of steps in the Hotel Lohspeicher. The restaurant is run by the chef, Ingo Beth and his family. The ambience matches the excellent food and Mosel wines served by friendly, helpful staff. The "Zanderfilet" (perch)... More
